  1. Despite all that, the average player can make 3-4 times as much in the Eredivisie than MLS. However, the lower salaries apply to a lot of the guys who would have a tough time drawing interest in Europe and sticking. If you are good enough to be a DP in the MLS, though, it starts to even out across the board.
  2. He also starting talking about wanting pro / rel in US Soccer the other day and made the claim he couldn't tell what level each league was at. Then talked about the Morris and Ibarra call ups as if that had something to do with anything.
  3. Gramatica off the upright. Bears vs Bucs 2001
  4. http://espn.go.com/mlb/homeruns/_/league/8/type/2 Only 6 / 15 teams in the NL had 2 players of any position combine for 50 homers. Rizzo / Valbuena got pretty close at 48. Soler / Bryant combining for 50 is good.
  5. He'd be a good pinch runner off the bench
  6. Maybe. I really don't know what to expect from this team. 3 of those 4 games are winnable but with this team I don't think any game would be considered an easy win. Would need to go 2-2 in those 4 games. If we do that, I would be ecstatic because I could see the Bears going 5-2 in the last 7 games, giving us an outside shot at a playoff spot. Sounds like the Bears are going to fall just short of the playoffs and everyone will keep their jobs to me. Football Hell. The previous coaches all lost their jobs after a 10 win season. This team wont win 10 games. Somebody explain to me why we needed to make changes two years ago but not now. Team needed to be reloaded due to aging and Lovie wasn't the right one to do it. The Bears current window depends on Cutler, Marshall and Forte aging gracefully and progress from recently drafted and FA players. If the offense is still a top 10 unit at year's end, I think you keep Trestman in place and have year 3 be playoffs-or-bust. It could be ugly after that if more young impact players don't start showing up on both sides of the ball. Right now you have Jeffery, Long and Fuller.
  7. We need one of those drives that results in Marshall sobbing on the sideline and collapsing.
  8. Only thing that could prevent getting the ball back is a penalty.
  9. Its one thing for Brennaman to be so transparent in his rooting interest, but I can't imagine the Panthers invoking any sort of passion. I long for Dick Stockton calling the game and crediting sack fumbles to Bryant Young.
  10. you heard him, everybody stop posting during the next 3rd down
  11. If Kyle eats a sandwich, but no one is around to see it, was it still a sandwich?
  12. St. Louis mayor's response to this: http://online.wsj.com/articles/st-louis-to-america-dont-be-jealous-1412273454 And SB Nation's response to that: http://www.sbnation.com/2014/10/2/6895281/mayor-st-louis-responds-cardinals-hateability-pompous-ass There's nothing so humble as bragging about how superior your humility is. It also kind of implies Chicago is now in the Midwest.
  13. Ah, yes, the difference between a Sandwich and a sandwich. As a friend of mine observed that the problem stems from sandwich being both a genus and a species (his words)
  14. First time I had a chalupa, I ended up being nauseous to the point of dry heaving the next day ( I couldn't have been more than 10 or 11 at that point). It may not have been directly related, but I haven't had one since.
  15. I still remember when that thing first came out at Taco Bell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j3ZXRMAYQ0
  16. The play where Fuller went from covering a gap to chasing Gore across the field and tackling him from behind was pretty sick.
  17. 'I got a quarterback now who loves even the walk-ons'. Just thought I'd point out that Sanzenbacher, a 'walk-on' had 54 targets in 2011.
  18. Great to see. Plus he gets his first rushing TD on the same day.
  19. Still got Mike Glennon who lost his starting job the day McCown was signed. Josh McCown 2004 is his #1 comparable on football outsiders http://www.footballoutsiders.com/player/39342/mike-glennon

  21. ~ 100 miles from Wrigley, twice as far as KC? Its still about 70 miles closer than Peoria was and more than close enough if anyone from the FO or rehabbing major leaguer needs to go there. Its more of a shared major league market than KC was, but probably not by too much.
  22. Probably getting rid of this guy, too http://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/southbendtribune.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/b/2b/b2b9afd2-1f08-11e3-a805-0019bb30f31a/523760527c591.image.jpg Although, its probably best to be leaving the KC mascot behind http://www.milb.com/assets/images/8/4/6/62708846/cuts/Trick_or_Treat_Page_header_e5xv05k3_djtqhcy5.jpg
  23. Decker and CB Dee Milliner were out of practice yesterday. Those guys being banged up should be of help to Fuller and Jeffery/Marshall.
