  1. My over/under on the age is about 40%
  2. 2 so far, 62nd minute. Probably shouldn't have said anything.
  3. Montreal just needs to avoid giving up 4 goals in the 2nd half down in Costa Rica and will advance to the Champions League Final. It's nice to see an MLS team go into a Central American team's stadium and score first. Nice goal after a half of not-so-bad defense.
  4. Interesting commentary on Molina when he makes an error vs. commentary on Castro when Coghlan is a bad LFer.
  5. Get some runs, chase Wainwright out, get more runs, Ramirez/Strop/Rondon, win.
  6. They're talking about how Kruk's fat, out of shape, and there was a caricature drawn of him today where he has a large fupa.

  8. I'm surprised Lester was able to cover first on that play since he's spent his whole career in the American League where they just hit home runs and drink beer.
  9. I've learned that Castro might soon be at another position or another team, unless he gets engaged with excitement.
  10. Big man plays small ball. Hopefully Rizzo just hits it out and it all doesn't matter in the end.
  11. Messmer does what he does. Let's get this thing going.
  12. Trade bait or to develop into a full time starter? If he's gonna hit for a little pop, and add value in the bases and CF not sure why you wouldn't want him on the bench adding MLB value. Power aside, he put up a .315 OBP in the PCL last year and .273 in the majors. In order to be useful even in a bench role, he'll have to show a whole new level of ability in more than just power. Right now, he's the 5th outfielder by default because Denorfia is hurt and Lake is just as terrible, but he needs to prove at AAA that he has what it takes to be a long-term reserve outfielder in the majors. Right, but don't we normally see more OBP with added power due to pitchers nibbling a bit more? I mean, Theriot and Barney's eventual downfalls were because pitchers just weren't afraid to throw them strikes because they knew they couldn't do any serious damage. His BA/OBP should also rise a little if some flyballs turn into homeruns. He seems to be a good guy to have in the organization and brought onto the ML roster when needed. Hopefully he puts it together between a bench role and AAA stints.
  13. Not a bad result against Switzerland yesterday. The midfield was able to hold some possession, Shea delivered some nice crosses (plus a great one by Bedoya) and Orozco/Brooks looked organized. Still lacking some creativity, but hopefully some of that comes from getting the best XI out there. I'm ready for Rimando to be done with his USMNT career.
  14. Zardes on the wing for this one with Johannsson and Altidore up top. http://i.imgur.com/bbNtXmm.png?1
  15. Just saw this and thought it was pretty cool - map of US Open participants. Kind of surprising that Cincinnati, Cleveland and Nashville don't have teams in the top 3 divisions.
  16. Whitecaps v Toronto FC was a pretty fun watch today. The Toronto attack is pretty dangerous looking and will score a ton of goals this year. I'm looking forward to tuning into the Orlando City match with the 62,000 tickets sold in the Citrus Bowl.
  17. Mirotic will get some action at SF depending on the matchup, we'll see how that shakes out in the middle third of the season. If he can handle it, then there isn't really a playing time issue with the bigs. Dunleavy is solid and Snell can provide additional defense if that's the concern on the wing. Butler would play 40+ in the playoffs and Rose will get his minutes up. I don't think Hinrich will get nearly as many minutes as the season goes on, and Brooks can be used in brief stints with Rose. There's enough pieces in place at this point where you don't need to make a deal until an injury or poor performance forces your hand.
  18. That's my preference as well. Posted in other thread, but I will put it here also since its where the traffic is: Baez, Alcantara, Edwards and a high-ceiling Low A or Rookie level guy for Upton. Too much or too little? People keep forgetting he has the Cubs on his limited 5 team no trade list. Maybe he would waive it, but he did update his list just this offseason and still has the Cubs on it. Waive after waive
  19. Hope Javy is recruiting for us :-) Javy sent him a text and addressed it to "John" and Lester was touched that Baez took the time to get it so close to right. Lester was once a top 100 prospect, so Javy knows his know, but since he wasn't top 10 he can't spell the first name.
