    Im getting mad at the fact that they keep raising our expectations and then a little while later they do nothing... and boom they punch us in the gut, nothing unusual because we should be used to that by now. and by the way can anyone go down to Orlando and tell me wut Jimbo is doing?

    Hope they take him up on it. If we miss Lilly AND Meche, what does that mean for us? (And don't just grumble Marquis, I am sincerely curious) Suppan.... who i've thought as a better option over Lilly.

    Im starting to have serious doubts that Lilly signs with the Cubs.... it seems that the yankees are doing what the dodgers did last year for Furcal. There remaining darkhorses until boom they come with big cash, and it seems to me that Lilly does not want to pitch for the Cubs as much as he wants to pitch for the Yankees.

    it was around 2:40 before they came on.... Mac said something about him signing with the cubs (what does he know) they said they will talk about it in the show... im just saying has anyone else heard anything?

    i dont thing the Yanks will get him. I think its either the Cubs or some other random team who wasnt ment to be in this thing from the begining.

    since Schmidt is gone. I wouldnt mind getting Lilly... but then i seriously want Jim getting another starter..... and a note to Jim: DO SOMETHING!

    Agreed. care to back this up? His only two good years (02 and 04) he had BABIPs 70 points and 40 points lower than his LD% would have predicted as well as LOB% higher than league average and well above his other years. OK, so that suggests that during the two years that he was significantly above-average (120 ERA+ each year), he was lucky. So again - where is the evidence that he sucks? I don't necessarily think he "sucks" but is around the average to slightly below-average ranking. We could do a lot better than Lilly (Schmidt, Jennings), but we could also do worse than Lilly (Meche). If you combine that all with his propensity to give up the longball, pitching half his games in wrigley, and paying him 10-11M a year...he sucks. i dont think he was even that good in '05!

    I really hope Hendry doesn't go after Jennings, either. He is not very impressive. You could have probably had him for next to nothing last year. you could have had alot of pitchers for next to nothing last year..

    I doubt Jim goes after a Jennings or a Schmidt, if we end up with Lilly.

    I'm feeling the pain. I bet if you were at their hotel you would be having a blast :-). If nothing else you could just sit at the bar and harass every GM that walked by :wink: Except the GMs stay in their suites for the majority of the time (they have beer delivered to them). that just keeps making me wonder.. what Jim is doing right now? Waiting for his donuts to be delivered? :D .. . sorry. LOL, that is where the donut joke is to be entered!
