    What's more annoying, complaining about the Cubs on a message board dedicated to Cubs baseball or complaining about those fans who post on said message board? If you want to call me less of a fan because I criticize the Cubs, then you are less of a person for criticizing me.

    i don't buy for one second that pierre's speed has been affected by the weather. sorry. even if i were to buy that cold weather slows down guys to the point that it shaves 60-70 points off their OBP, i'm still not with you because it hasn't been that cold. you're acting like they've played half their games in snow. Did I say they played half of their games in snow? Did I say it shaves 60-70 points off his OBP? No. What I said is that weather does have an impact on a player built for speed....especially one who is from Louisiana and is used to playing in Miami. Have you ever played baseball? It also has an impact on the infielders born and bred in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela who have to set their feet and make a strong, accurate throw across the infield. The weather will affect more people than just Juan Pierre.

    I hate Neifi as much as the next guy (it should be pointed out that I hate more than Dusty's use of him, I actually dislike him), but I saw nothing wrong with his flip at the end of the game. It was an intense game with an amazing 8th inning rally, and he caught the ball to end the game in a near collision. No big deal.

    I think Opening Day. I thought they can go X number of days back into spring training. I think it can be backed into spring training, too. IIRC, Prior opened '05 on the DL but pitched the second week of the season (Opening Day was April 4 and he pitched vs San Diego on the 13th, I believe). It may even be able to go back into the previous season, i.e. the last time he actually appeared in a game.

    Goodie - another girl! :D At the risk of offending people, I'd actually be interested in a "sticky" post ID'ing the gal posters. That'll just encourage massive epooning and they won't even have to work to find out which ones are girls.... You don't know what that would bring upon yourself. epooning? Electronic Pooning.

    I'm torn. I want Felix to spend most, if not all, of this season at Iowa both to develop and so I can see him in person more often. However, I really want to see him given a chance with the big boys.

    Outlandish game prediction of the day: Cubs: Eleventy billion Cards: -3 Jerome Williams, in giving up negative 3 runs, is automatically enshrined into the Hall of Fame and has his number retired by MLB. Both Aramis Ramirez and Matt Murton break Fernando Tatis's record by hitting 3 grand slams in the 87-run 1st inning. Juan Pierre and Jacque Jones break out of their slow starts by going a combined 38-40 with 28 walks in the first 4 innings before being lifted for a couple of elderly women sitting behind the Cubs dugout.
