  1. yes, he was at SS 2B was a circle jerk of suck that year (Mike Tyson, Pat Tabler, Steve Dillard, and a couple of other schmoes) I always thought Tabler was going to be a very good player. he had some pretty solid seasons with Cleveland
  2. yes, he was at SS 2B was a circle jerk of suck that year (Mike Tyson, Pat Tabler, Steve Dillard, and a couple of other schmoes) EDIT -- the strike couldn't have come at a better time, that team was beyond brutal
  3. Well this thread wouldn't warrant it considering the person who started the thread brought it up. huh? How are you going to give an award for derailing a thread to someone who was actually discussing the thread's original post? Unless you work for Rawlings, that doesn't make sense. I believe Cro Magnon was referring to the potshot Geech took at OMC. And oddly enough, this may be the only post in NSBB history that was not immediately derailed.
  4. http://baseballprospectus.com/fantasy/dc/
  5. I don't recall reading anything that says Hendry offered or MacPhail requested. Everything I've seen to this point is speculation as to the names involved. Who point those names in there, I don't know.
  6. So they'll get the first groundball out even sooner? Ryan "6-3" Theriot has a nice ring to it
  7. You should have stopped after "tabled". You would have had me on board. These discussions need to stop, period. No more talking, it's time for MacPhail to put up or shut up. If some of these "insiders" information is correct, and Hendry has offered some of the names being mentioned, then he has offered a more than fair deal in my eyes. Roberts is a good player, he's not a superstar, just because he's got sentimental value to PGA doesn't make him worth a king's ransom to another team, contrary to what Orioles fans seem to think. If MacPhail isn't happy with the offer from Hendry, then it's time for Hendry to walk away....not for a while, but for good. Period. has Hendry offered or has MacPhail requested?
  8. it's a much better idea than having Ryan Theriot lead off, but I'd prefer him #2
  9. no, it's really not How is it not? After 3 months, name other possible scenarios. Hendry wants him, Macphail is asking for more than hendry currently wants to give. Whether or not somebody else on the O's side (PGA) is holding it up and wanting more doesn't matter. Hendry needs to decide one way or another, because it's just a distraction. you have failed to show anything but anecdotal evidence to suggest that it is perhaps what you view it to be. that, by the very definition of the word, is not obvious. and who is distracted? most players in the league know that they can be replaced at any given time, a trade rumor now is no different than trade rumors through August Wait, why are you crossing up my words? I never said it was obivous that it's a distraction, I said it was obvious what was going on with trade talks. You're confusing 2 seperate topics. Go read the post you originally quoted because that was before the distraction stuff (which I've already said was hypothetical) even strted being discussed. I believe you just crossed my words, there's no confusion here

  11. She lives across the street from Brian and keeps popping in uninvited. But she means well. I'm sure she gets along dandy with Brian's wife, right? Are you guys talking about Doris Day?? I believe you're thinking of Morris Day and The Time
  12. yes, which makes it easy to confuse it with every other thread
  13. he hasn't met one that he wouldn't ride into the ground yet

  15. what a dolt
  16. I would take Uribe over Theriot if those were the only choices. I would also hope they'd eat at least half his salary and take only a Cintron-type player in return.
  17. Iowa's gonna win it yo!

  19. Soriano should hit 9th on the days he hits homeruns so 8 people will be on base
  20. seems to me that Theriot, in the leadoff spot, will suck too much too soon
  21. if it helps, I work with a guy named Brian who types Brain all damn day long
