  1. 36 pitches for Gallagher right now. Dempster didn't hit 36 until the 7th inning or so yesterday
  2. everything about that is a load of crap. everything
  3. a buddy of mine just called and said "you're right, Geovany Soto is the sexiest man in baseball"
  4. Who is selling DeRosa short? Just because there is a better option for more at bats does not mean the alternative is being sold short. A lot of people envisioned Murton as our starting LF for many years, but when Soriano was signed, they were happy to upgrade. That did not mean that they felt that Murton was automatically a bad player, just that there was a better option. I'll say it -- DeRosa's a much better bet to stay close to his 810 OPS than Theriot is to stay near his 816. I'll take Cedeno+DeRosa over any combination involving Theriot any day
  5. It works for everyone, you can't just take a guys road splits and count them as his true value. what a novel concept! Old news to some of us... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=48174&p=1749774#p1749774 please stretch first and be extremely careful so you don't pull something trying so eagerly to pat yourself on the back
  6. This. BA/SLG/OBP/OPS with runners on base: .296 .354 .478 .831 The same with bases empty: .233 .298 .381 .679 When those two lines begin to converge, and they will, their run-scoring will slow down. Just curious as to how those same splits look for us... I'd look them up myself but I'm too damn lazy. runners on: 282/369/437/806 bases empty: 292/381/451/831
  7. I see both of them this season as being 725-750 OPS guys with a ceiling around 800. factor in what I perceive to be better defense from Pie, and I think we have a winner
  8. francoeur is at least an adequate major league outfielder; harvey can't even hack it at AA. I guess that was my (poorly made) point. If memory serves, we passed on Francoeur to take Haryey. Francoeur was drafted the year before (we took Brownlie 2 picks earlier). we did pass up on other OF'ers like Markakis, Milledge, Conor Jackson, and Carlos Quentin when we took Harvey
  9. I agree with your decision. my love for Hanley is as vast as something extremely vast, and I really think Hermida is going to keep getting better as this season goes on. that and McClouth is due to come back to earth at some point
  10. I think it's within reason to believe he can do it if he's healthy and stays that way. he's terrible when he's gimpy
  11. I'm 3 hours away and haven't been there since 2001
  12. You must a lot of hate, then. I'm used to it, I was raised catholic
  13. he's a fine-tuned professional athlete, fatigue should not be an issue that really has nothing to do with anything it was also a joke as evidenced by calling Dempster "fine-tuned"
  14. I hate it when jesus mocks me
  15. jesus hates you. he must like me again, I see it now
  16. why don't I see a picture?
  17. I'll take a free Ronny and Felix if people are giving them out
  18. he's a fine-tuned professional athlete, fatigue should not be an issue
  19. funny, those pictures make me want for him to put up numbers like he did a few short years ago until he stops wearing the Cubs uniform
  20. really good stretch of baseball for this team. let's hope they keep up the magic against the pirates
  21. damn kids these days... http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080515&content_id=2705570&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
