  1. He should have sat today. DeRo should be at 1st and Cedeno should be starting. Cedeno is starting
  2. that problem won't present itself with Ward heading to the DL, but the answer is yes when he comes back and whomever is sent back down
  3. and just like that, the side is retired on 4 pitches
  4. if the choice was mine, I'd pick Felix Pie
  5. actually, Edmonds sports a 263 avg in 38 AB's against Maddux
  6. http://www.thingsyoungerthanmccain.com/
  7. Are you serious? Of course it makes a difference when a player dominates on your arch rival rather than some random baseball team. how so? if Edmonds is the reason the Cubs go 6-12 against the Cardinals, what's the difference if Bay is the reason the Cubs go 6-12 against the Pirates? the Cubs, as a team, still stunk. why Edmonds? why not Pujols? age jokes aside, Pujols is widely regarded as an impressive beast of a baseball person even amongst Cubs fans. Edmonds seems to be hated mostly because of the home run against Zambrano with a lot of the half shirt and childish gay jokes Honestly, if you don't understand why a Cubs fan would have more disdain for a member of the Cardinals than a member of the Pirates, I really don't know what to tell you. And Edmonds isn't only hated cause he's gay and hit HR's. He was overly dramatic in the field, admired all of his HR's, bitched about Wrigley, complained about EVERY called strike, whined a lot in general, etc. etc. etc. honestly, I think you're taking this sport too seriously
  8. Says you. says most rational and mature people everywhere

  10. why is Edmonds hated more than any other player on any other opposing team? I absolutely hated him while he was with the Cardinals mostly because he was an offensive machine, but I also hated the other 24 members of the team. is it because he showboated on a home run hit off Zambrano? as much as I don't care for it personally, I'd probably stop and stare a bit if I hit a bomb off of a premier MLB pitcher. the fact remains that for several seasons, he was one of the top players in the game. it shouldn't make a difference that he did it in a Cardinals jersey while they were winning vs a Pirates jersey while they were 35 games back
  11. No, he was good at Wrigley because he was an other-worldly baseball player for a 6 year stretch from 2000-2005; consequently, those were the years he played in the National League Central against the Cubs. So facing the Cubs "pitching staff" (and I use that term loosely) had nothing to do with it? Really? I agree he had good number those years, but facing the Cubs staff had a lot to do with those numbers at Wrigley. Daniel Garaby strikes fear into the hearts of no one. I think he was saying that facing the Cubs pitching staff didn't have much to do with it. Against all of baseball from 2000-2006 Edmonds averaged a 147 OPS+. He was just really damn good. career OPS at current NL Central parks: Wrigley - 918 Busch - 735 (1008 at Busch II) Minute Maid - 915 Miller - 950 GAB - 889 PNC - 1033 not too shabby, let's hope he still has something left
  12. and just like that, Milwaukee's set to announce a 7 year deal with Braun...
  13. I switched over to espn to catch the Cubs score (stupid wciu) just in time to see them do the top 10 Manny being Manny plays. it's obvious he has a great sense of humor, and some of those moments were dirty pee pants funny
  14. there should be some sort of member guideline forbidding posters to remind other posters that Chad Fox is taking up a spot on both the active roster and the 40 man
  15. I still haven't killed anyone since the signing
  16. Why does everyone insist on bringing race into the equation of this move so much? YOU'RE putting words/thoughts in Carlos's head without knowing what's going on. Maybe Z is just thinking in sole baseball sense that this is one of the dumbest moves the team could make... race be darned. especially considering there's a history between Z and Jimmy
  17. Some of you need to go watch "Coming to America." It really is a great movie. yes and made when Eddie Murphy still had a sense of humor. if it makes you feel better, when I saw your post the first thing that came to mind was Randy Watson. that boy's good
  18. Interesting. How do the Cubs get their 7 runs taken away? did you really think Edmonds would be leading off?
  19. he dropped somewhere around 35 pounds before the start of last season
  20. 11 run homer from Edmonds leading off the 1st, Cubs win 4-1
