  2. for the love of all that is good and juicy, if Dopirak can't make the FSL all-star game at his advanced age, he needs to hang 'em up
  3. Geo 2007 catchers: 239/304/369/673 2008 catchers: 305/392/532/924
  4. Yeah I agree. Some guys just get into a nice groove and as long as they don't change anything mechanically, they're fine. I would agree to an extent, however, in this specific instance Zambrano was hardly in a groove. He was fighting himself all night. I didn't see the game so I don't know. Was he missing by a lot or just off by a little? Plus, I think it depends on what pitches he threw/throws. He's mostly fastball slider...correct? the zone was a little tight so that didn't help any, but he was all over the place.
  5. the 2005 Cubs were 44-10 at this point and finished 52-110 the 2004 Cubs were 10-44 at this point and finished 110-52 (yes, I'm bored)
  6. I was thinking the same thing. DeRosa is awesome. He's no Izturis. praise Jebus
  7. it's actually not uncommon for teams to appeal to the official scorer on questionable decisions. it's odd that a player himself is doing it, but he also has an odd manager
  8. Livan's a bit of an oddball. he had a really good 1st half season and hasn't really been all that good outside of a couple of years when he threw the most
  9. Tommy Lasorda used to eat 100 hot dogs prior to his games!! and another 150 during
  10. *yawn* wake me up when they are 162-0 over their last 162
  11. in the same basic role as Ed Lynch or Chuck Wasserstrom. which one of them gets credit for the resurgence of the Cubs the past 2 years?
  12. are you aware of the length of his tenure?
  13. I would have known that had I read your blog, but my day's been craptastic and haven't even gotten to woot yet
  14. nope... http://www.suntimes.com/sports/977280,collins052908.article

  16. it's a coin toss. Dawson's arm was probably stronger while Fukudome's is probably more accurate. both had (have) terrific instincts with great range and routes.
  17. court vision scores: Jason Kidd - 8.96 Deron Williams - 8.71 Steve Nash - 8.91 Derrick Rose - 8.64
  18. Was he signed at his trailer down by the river? yes it was, while I was drinking one of his Coors Lights. I had 4 of them at one time, but I can only seem to locate 1 now. thank you for your bid, do I hear $4.5 million? photo evidence or it didn't happen. no photos, but ask Bobby Hill or Trenidad Hubbard. they'll vouch for me.
  19. It wasn't an exceptional play, but it was a very good play. Soriano was running pretty hard, caught the ball (evading two fans leaning over the railing trying to catch it) and slammed up against the side wall. Then he gave the fans a dirty look for reaching into the field to try to catch the ball. I'd like to think fans sitting in that area might exercise a little restraint on a ball hit near that wall considering what once happened on a foul ball hit to that same general area back in 2003. yeah, looking at the replay it appeared as though one of them started pulling his glove back a bit when he realized where he was

  21. I wouldn't want to be that short
  22. I have an I-Cubs ticket stub with Rod Beck's signature. I'll start the bidding at $4 million
  23. Sarge led the league in 84 with 19. Dawson had 16 in 87, tied with 5 others for 5th best in MLB
  24. I can consistently drive 300+ yards, but my short game is horrific bordering on unbearable. I could do some damage on the court with a 48" vertical
