    but his job duties will remain pretty much the same. boston could argue that ricketts is essentially the team president AND owner. That argument would be almost as ridiculous as someone arguing that Brandon Marshall is better than Megatron.

    clearly the "safari" was a trip spent with Bill James and Mr Beane to discuss how Mr Ricketts could change the world. It worked. Don't get too giddy guys. The guy hasn't done jack [expletive] yet. Let's not grab our collective [expletive] just yet. He hired a highly qualified person with a track record of success that prescribes to advanced statistics to run the baseball opps department. That's all he needed to really do on the baseball side, other then opening up the purse strings. Now its said he is going to be hands off. So yeah, he did a ton. I realize you also might be sarcastic. Again, what has he done so far? Nothing. Until he does There's reason to give the guy kudos. Let's just see what happens. We're on [expletive] autopilot from here on out.

    Barney makes up a bit with his defense. WHIP/ERA is heavily influenced by the Cubs' abysmal defense. I'm not following your logic. Walks, hits and ERA are not impacted by errors. Am I being overly simplistic? Hits and ERA are impacted by poor defenders who cannot get to balls they should get to.

    Just my 2 cents, but... My history of knee problems quickly led me to defend Cutler at the end of last season. I now have the utmost respect for him after watching that game last night. That offensive line is comically bad. Imagine how good he would look if he had a pocket to throw in every now and again and didn't get hit every time he dropped back to pass. I also remembered why I rarely watch Monday night games. That booth has to be near the top of the "worst crew ever" list.

    Ricketts needs to stop the media from reporting their opinions? Opinions are great. Just stop hiring these people and let the new guy do it. Rick Hahn, etc... maybe great, but that's up to the new GM whether he wants him or not. HE HASN'T HIRED ANY OF THESE PEOPLE. IT'S SPECULATION FROM THE MEDIA.
