It's his pride that's hurt. You see this stuff when an athlete has a really horrible day. He wants the sympathy/excuse that playing hurt provides. He didn't fake that look on his face when he caught that fly ball. It struck me as a drama queen performance and it was way too convenient. I don't think so

I disagree. He's a young kid that needs some time IMO. I think this Lee/Prior/Wood injuries might be a blessing in diguise if Hendry does it right. By that I mean some young guys might get some time and we can see if they are worth having around. We're not the Royals. I'm not for letting everyone on the farm come up and audition. Let's get people out there that can perform.

It's one game. I'm not taking too much from it. I'm also not getting crazy about Wood. It's not like he was returning next week.

I think it's a good time for him to get the kinks out. I don't. I still have fantasies about winning this game. Aardsma has to learn to pitch inside a little better. I think this little tour of duty should get him to be a better pitcher. They don't have time for him to fix himself. He may end up getting demoted so that someone else can get a shot.
