  1. Soup is too chicken to give Derrek a hittable pitch.
  2. Exactly! He needs to keep that ball out of the air.
  3. Nice rebound Mark! Maybeline trying to trick the Cubs. haha MP has 51 pitches
  4. LOL, Prior made a mental mistake and Ron Santo is going to blow a gasket.
  5. That's exactly what I was thinking as well. ESPN loves the Cardinals, no doubt about it. No..they love all things Yankees/Redsox related....and if they have time after sucking their [expletive] they'll talk about the Cubs and Cardinal. Please watch your language.
  6. LOL, I was thinking the same thing! Totally one sided
  7. Tje best thing about that homer is JHJ leads off the next inning
  8. That's unrealistic... Prior can rebound and Suppan isn't likely to shut anyone out. Mark just needs to calm down and get his location back. he meant Prior shutting out the Cards. Hello, I knew that. my point is 3 runs given up by Prior doesnt mean the game is over... No, but it's a good indication that it likely is. Well then I guess you can stop watching because you know the outcome. Nothing about Suppan's previous starts leads me to believe he will not give up at least 4 ER.

  11. Nice work. Ya had to say something. Why don't you just tell everyone, why don't cha. He's had a problem with the curve ball lately
  12. Prior looks really sharp to start! Hopefully, he can command his curve Edit: looks like the curve needs some work
  13. So far Walker isn't looking good Again
  14. That article was really onesided (no surprise). Yes, the Cardinals were playing a deleted lineup however, Matt Morris is one of their team's aces and he gave up 6 ER. Meanwhile, our fifth starter, who spent part of the year in the minor leagues, out pitched Morris. That game would not have been as close if an error had not been committed by Walker to yield a run. Also, the Cardinals had two of their everday players in the game when it mattered and they did not get it done... I don't look for objectivity from St Louis sports writers.
  15. In other news, I just heard on WGN Radio that Rcih Hill will be making the start tomorrow for Wood.
  16. LOL, this reminds me of yesterday's game; while McCarver was attempting to make a case for Lee not being the MVP (regardless of his Triple Crown numbers thus far), Derrek hit a 2 run homer to put the Cubs ahead...
  17. Hill's ability to strike out runners is an advantage especially before the ML's get a good read on him. I'm not certain if he's stretched out enough to go deep in a game but it wouldn't be out of the norm to have him go 5 innings then have Glendon come in out of the bullpen (or vice versa).
  18. Yes but an article at Cubs.com says the team is considering bringing him up or letting Glendon pitch. It's not uncommon for pitchers to do some work 2-3 days before an outting. He maybe available depending on the number of pitches he through in 4.1 http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050723&content_id=1141821&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
  19. and in further news, Farnsworth struck out 2 of 3 hitters in the 9th to earn his 4th save in a 2-1 game Yeah but that's only because he's pitching in obscurity. He couldn't cut it in the big city. Plus, you can always count on him to do something stupid to get suspended.
