I think I have the tiebreaker over GHS and Dealers, so those teams are fighting for the last spot. Process and Quakers fighting for the last spot in the weak ass division. When do rosters lock on Sunday?

Alcantara didn't take SS from Castro, Baez didn't take it from Castro, and Russell is in AA. So until Russell moves up two levels and takes it from him, I wouldn't assume anything. the older scouting pieces on russell suggest a "frame" or "build" that isn't suited to SS long-term. i'm interested to see the revised outlook on his positional future after this season. my guess is that if castro is still around when russell's time is here, he'll stay at SS How does this benign comment about an interest in gathering more information lead to the hostility that ensued? I did not expect that at all.

Sort of. I was in the midst of editing it when I got a call that quickly identified itself as not going to take "just a second" as the caller told me it would. So I just deleted the post rather than try to fix it. I actually wanted to put Turner and Straily in the rotation, but I'm just not confident we can be that lucky and I'd really like to add McCarthy as I'm hoping Arizona was just stupid. Seems like counting on Turner, Straily, and Hendricks in 2015 is asking a little much. So Max, Arrieta, McCarthy, Turner, Straily with Hendricks at AAA waiting to fill one of the spots that open up when one of the last 3 doesn't pitch well?

My favorite snippet: Look at his flyout. He hit the ball 365 feet on a line with his right foot off the ground. If he gets fooled just a little less and doesn't have to put all of his weight on one leg, he probably puts that one out (like he did the HR).

I'm not really. But I like the idea of trading Castro for an established ace. Which one? Why not just sign Max and/or Lester and keep Castro until we actually have a plethora of MLB shortstops? I'm with trey - if/when Russell is ready to be our SS, it probably makes sense to trade Castro. But that could be more than a year from now (or longer, or never).

season may just come down to this week. if I win, i'm tied with dealers for 3rd place at 12-7 and i hold the h2h tiebreaker. if i lose, it's almost impossible to make the playoffs. Felix and Kershaw each have 2 starts. Yikes.

There's a post on that thread from Friday that says he's starting Sunday. Also, those complaints about not knowing he was starting were from Friday - presumably from leagues that have a weekly lineup deadline. That seemed to be Raisin's problem since he said he set his lineup for the week (which implies he didn't check back again after Friday).

Yeah, that's what I said. I'm the bad guy. The rule is clear (3 starts - it's been the same since I've been in the league and Adam posted about it in this very thread). The penalty for an extra start is you lose your best start. Spin it however you like. You're the guy desperately trying to claim a win for yourself despite a clear rules violation.

that's it. I'm the bad guy. You broke the rules and I'm asking them to be applied as we have to everyone else. It doesn't make you a bad person. There's no evil intent required. That's the reason some of us, like Adam and I when I first joined, wanted it to be simple. Break a rule, penalty applied, move on.

can someone with commissioner powers add back the 17.5 points (woohoo!!) I had yesterday that CBS didn't count b/c I had extra guys on my bench. Alternatively, I'll take the 32.5 points I lost for doubting Ubaldo Jimenez.
