  1. [expletive], man. just can't win with you, huh?
  2. So it's simpler to: A. assume that an NFL prospect kills off a fake gf (rather than admitting to his family that he lied and then telling his teammates they broke up) and risks ruining his career rather than B. Te'o is one of a bunch of people that have fallen victim to these scams. It's possible that A is right. I don't think that's more likely nor simpler. Again, what about the stuff like his story about how they met? Do you think he decided to make that up on his own or did the Catfishes tell him to use that story? Are we talking Stanford 2009? Stanford 2009: te'o and a woman exchange numbers --unclear if any contact-- sometime in 2011: woman contacts te'o claiming to be woman he gave his number to. ...bunch of [expletive] happens leading to today... that seems pretty logically consistent. Or the entire Stanford 2009 thing was concocted by Te'o because he was embarrassed about only knowing "her" online. It's still consistent. true
  3. It is absolutely possible that he's involved. I'm interested to see what Te'o says in his PC and what the guy behind the twitter account says tomorrow (if that's real). But literally no one has come up with a reasonable justification for committing career suicide and Te'o duping everyone. The guy [expletive] got a message from a family whose daughter was dying of cancer and sent them a long email back about coping with a loved one dying of cancer. I mean, jesus. Why wouldn't he just ignore it if he was making it up? They never expected a response. how much of a sociopath do you have to be to [expletive] with the family of a girl dying of cancer? It just seems much more likely that he was gullible.
  4. her "brother" who he had spoken to called him. gave him an address to send flowers to, which he did.

  7. you forgot the date of the last part. assuming this kid is behind it or involved, manti didn't know about it until 12/26 at the earliest (if the girl told him when she called) or January 4 when ND got the investigator's report. The USC game happened Thanksgiving weekend. So he would continue hanging out with and tweeting the guy b/c he didn't know he had been duped until 3 weeks ago and didn't know of this guy's possible involvement until then or even 10 days later.
  8. I said this earlier but why would a long distance girlfriend, fake or otherwise, preclude him from banging chicks in South Bend? Would you be shocked if Tebow wasn't a virgin in college too? you know what i mean. he literally could have had anyone in like a 4 state radius be an actual girlfriend but yeah he totally fell for this dead fake girlfriend he'd only touched on the hand once. its preposterous that's what it's about for you? he didn't bang a bunch of college girls so he must have made up a gf in CA and killed her off? no other possible explanation?
  9. Yeah, everyone is crazy except for the guy with the made up dead girlfriend and you. Yeah. It's not the people that are willfully ignorant and then drawing conclusions like "why didn't he just call her? What an idiot!" Those people aren't crazy. Nope, not crazy at all. Just enjoying the hilarity. No, he's right. The people laughing at teo are crazy and married to a concept that they must protect at all cost for some reason. my god. laugh at te'o all you want. he's likely gullible and foolish. but i don't think he's a psychopath, which is what he'd have to be.
  10. Except, it was a year, maybe 18 months. these catfishing hoaxes aren't 2 week affairs. the people behind them are cruel and probably a little insane. people literally do this to tons of people every day.
  11. yes they spoke on the phone all teh time, 8 hours a night as he listened to her raspy death throes i mean come the [expletive] on you idiot [expletive] off you idiot. no one believes they spoke literally every night for hours on end. he's either insanely clever and can pull off this huge hoax for years (with no benefit to himself). or he's incredibly stupid and would ruin his NFL career in order to pull off this hoax for no benefit to himself. Never the twain shall meet.
  12. Is the bit that you're talking to yourself? Help me out here. The bit is omc, nuts, and others earlier claiming te'o never spoke to her and that he should have figured it out when she didn't speak to him. Even if you ignored the presser today, which is dumb, but even if you did, the story has always been about their long conversations at night and falling asleep on the phone and him calling her first thing in the morning, etc, etc. Ignoring basic facts to draw these conclusions makes you look stupid. Doing so and calling me stupid makes you an ass.* *not you, wolfie, "you" the people that are doing that.
  13. right. which is why we know that, at the very least, te'o was lying about something. i mean, he said he met her FACE TO FACE. unless they found an actress to play the role who also happened to look very much like the girl whose facebook photo they later stole, TE'O LIED ABOUT THIS. are you at least willing to admit that, MR? He certainly lied to his parents about meeting her as his dad was quoted in the SB tribune about their meetings in Hawaii. I've asked here, b/c I honestly don't know, whether he lied to the media about meeting her. It's been reported that he gave his number to a woman at the Stanford game in '09 and that he believed that this girl was that same woman. I don't remember seeing Manti quoted saying that he met her in person after she contacted him in 2011. Have you seen that somewhere - a quote from him about meeting her?
  14. They spoke on the phone all the [expletive] time. You're willful ignorant and then don't see why your conclusions are illogical. Fun.
  15. Maybe the most classic n&g move
  16. WHAT AN ABSURD SUGGESTION. Dear lord man. You're not this slow. Keep up.
  17. Yeah, everyone is crazy except for the guy with the made up dead girlfriend and you. Yeah. It's not the people that are willfully ignorant and then drawing conclusions like "why didn't he just call her? What an idiot!" Those people aren't crazy.
  18. i'm sure you'd have the same opinion if this was matt barkley and all the other details were the same Don't project the crazy in this thread onto me. As I've said elsewhere, as much as I hate USC, I wouldn't take pleasure in someone being led to believe his gf died of cancer, even if it were Reggie Bush.
  19. So it was a gang of people duping him? What a load of [expletive] [expletive]. MAYBE if there was seemingly some kind of effort to blackmail him or something, but instead we're supposed to just believe it was an epic prank multiple people were in on...and it was a prank they only did for their own benefit and they didn't reveal it to anyone at all? Even the smartest, funniest, most dick-headed secret Internet community couldn't pull off this con, and I know we're not all unfamiliar with a community like that. Even IF I were able to accept all of the unbelievable facts that would contribute to Te'o being a victim, I don't think even the best trolls could pull this off. Like seriously, no one complicit sees all the coverage of his dead girl and has even the modicum of humanity it would take to create a fake gmail account to tell him he should probs ease up on the tasteless pimping of his dead GF en route to a doomed heisman run? No one has even a shred of a conscience in the group. Not his bud? Not the fake girl stand in? Not anyone they told? Which facts are unbelievable? I just need a reason Te'o would risk everything for this? Put career at risk for no benefit at all? Why? because he's an insane weirdo Now you're just being senseless
  20. He's a stupid religious nut who has no idea how to deal with being gay and so he did something really, really stupid. There's plenty reason. And yeah, go ahead and keep acting like anyone's reaction to this has amounted to much more emotionally besides "this is hilarious." I'm not ready to infer that. It's certainly possible. What I'm saying is that as a neutral observer who doesn't really care about Te'o or ND one way or the other, it's circumstantially much more likely he's involved. Occam's Razor. Thing is, even if he's genuinely a victim, it doesn't change the fact that everyone who believed he's totally innocent are wrong to believe it right now. Such obvious bias is almost funny. I haven't seen one smart non-ND fan come out strong in his defense. I had no idea what was more likely until Swarbrick started speaking. The idea that he would put his career on the line for a guy that ND has already milked for all he's worth is even more illogical.

It's funny watching people I genuinely respect absolutely lose their minds

  23. You're all probably Sandy Hook Conspiracy believers too
  24. You guys are a trip.
  25. He talked to a girl dozens of times. So did his dad (eta talked to her, not dozens of times like Manti did). This wasn't one guy that did it all. She called him at the ESPN awards banquet to say she wasn't dead. Jesus
