Holy crap! I don't know where to begin! Need a little help... do we go with the meatbally "I'd rather have Piscotty over Bryant" route? Or can we just go straight to the Cards fan with a swastika on his neck? That one seems too easy. How about the fact that Bush stadium was empty of Cardinal fans after the 7th inning last night. They hung around until the end of the 8th but then there was a mass exodus that allowed me to get down front for the post game shenanigans.

Edmonds was doing the color commentary for the Cards broadcast last night and did a little breakdown of Heyward at the point of contact with the ball that I thought was interesting. The essence was that he's not staying down low enough at contact and that's a big reason for all the 4-3s. -
I'm going to essentially ignore this year for him because of his mom's battle with ALS. I can only imagine how much of an effect that might have on your performance. He may not get any better, but I don't think this year is a fair appraisal of his talent.

While there's a lot of hyperbole in that post, it's not an idea completely without merit. He's essentially limited to first base anymore because his arm isn't very good and his range has always been iffy. Combine that with the fact that they don't really have a good middle of the order bat that could probably most easily be found from some other guy who plays first and it's not a crazy thought to have.

Does Quintana get to finish this? I'm not totally against it with the current state of the bullpen, but I'm not sure I want him going past 110 this late in the season.

That was one of the most spectacular runs I've seen in my entire life. He made three or four guys look like Junior tackle players on that run.

This article is basically: - The Cardinals threw at the Cubs and Joe got mad - Two baseball teams of different talent levels played baseball games for two years - The more talented baseball team won a significant amount more baseball games - The writer asserts that the more talented team is not actually better at playing baseball, but rather better at playing MIND baseball against one particular team I mostly got a validation that Matheny is dumb and Joe played him like a fiddle.

The Cardinals playoff chances and the number of posts in each game thread followed the same trajectory: Friday: 308 Saturday: 91 Sunday: 44 well on sunday they were probably watching their football team...oh nm Eh, that's one area I won't hit them on for. They did everything right and the NFL had it in for the city. You can see how much support those idiots have in LA and the guys running the show are a bunch of lying scum with no souls.

Can't the team essentially pay him whatever they want after that first year? Bryant is getting a lot more than he has to and it's a series of one year contracts even before arbitration right? I don't see why the team wouldn't be allowed to deem him valuable in their eyes and give him significant raises each year after the first.

I've watched the replay a bunch of times and it really just looks like a rookie backup catcher got crossed up. He is expecting the ball to break to his right and the ball just keeps going straight.

I watched the game yesterday with a buddy who's a Cards fan and he can't stand McCarver either. I catch a decent number of their games and all of the color guys are various levels of awful with the exception of Edmonds. He's decent but needs some more polish to really be good.

Raw, that ball got tipped before it ever got to Cohen. It would have been a ridiculous catch had he made it. The rest of that post is pretty sad though.

Not as bad as it used to be and this isn't a full tear, but it's still not going to be an easy road back, especially since the rotator cuff is torn as well. I'd bet he misses most if not all of next year.
