Very good draw for the US and tough draw for Mexico I like it.

US got Algeria if they can get Slovkia or Slovenia they would have a very good shot at getting out. Mexico got Uruguay if they can get Portugal or France that could be tough for them.

I've been waiting for them to kick it into gear for awhile and I agree this ought to get them going. As it stands only 5 points out of the 8th spot with a game in hand. They have a good enough team to fight for that 8th spot. They won't go anywhere in the playoffs, but they should get there. Just need the scorers to start scoring. Yeah they have the talent to make it as last year proved. Its amazing how good Eric Johnson already is. I thought he might get off to a little bit of a slow start after not playing all last year, but he has been amazing so far this year.

Big win for the Blues last night. Scored with 6 seconds left to tie the game then won in the shooutout vs San Jose. Hopefully this win will jumpstart the team and get them going.

Losing the draft pick is probably not that big a deal, because Soriano and Gonzalez are both type A's as well. So they should get some picks back from them.

Well with Liverpool out of the Champions League, I am rooting for Bordeaux to win it all. They are playing really well right now and Gorcuff is insanely good.

Christian Vieri came out and said that Inter president and a few others made up the Calciopoli scandal that sent Juventus down a couple years ago. According to him he has documents that prove it. Inter could be screwed if he is telling the truth and has documents to back it up.

Is there actually been any talk of Kansas City moving Gordon, or is it just speculation here because he has been hurt and underperformed so far in his career. He was pretty highly touted coming out of Nebraska I cant see KC giving up on him yet.

Real lost 4-0 in the Copa Del Ray today to a team from the third tier league. Its not like they played all youngsters either, Raul, Van Der Vart, Drenthe, Arbeloa, and Guti all started.

Its not really that shocking, he works with hitters every offseason. I know Skip, Duncan, and Holliday have all worked with him, and he turned down the rockies offer to be hitting coach as well. -
Liverpool's next 2 weeks are ManU,Arsenal, at Lyon. I say its 50/50 if Rafa is still there at the end of it after this week.

Chelsea lose to Wigan, and maybe more importantly Cech was sent off and will miss the Liverpool game. Oh and Torres is really good.

Yeah that first goal was a thing of beauty. Liverpool's defense especially on set pieces is brutal right now though.

I said last year that he should be in their starting XI, and he has not disappointed. He now has 9 goals in his last 10 league games, and could have had a 4th today as he had one called back but I think that he was onside.

By squad age are you saying that Robben is old? I always mistake his age cause he looks to be like 40 but he is actually only 25.

We'll see. His next start will probably be the same brilliance or a high ERA 2 1/3 inning disaster. Smoltz claimed that during the break he found his mistake when pitching to a high-school catcher. Apparently he was planting his foot too early and at a different angle. Thus it was throwing the rest of the mechanics off. If this is true it shows just how brilliant Smoltz is. Plus that Duncan has nothing to do with his possible turn-around. Smoltz also said today that Carpenter watched him throw a bullpen session and noticed that he was tipping his pitches. His stuff still looked good yesterday, so I am hoping all the stuff coming out about changing some stuff is true and he can be a decent 4th or 5th option. -
I dont know all the circumstances, but it seems like he may be using the threats as an excuse. He had already been replaced on FSC by Wynalda, and he had already lost a lot of sponsors. To the point that he was trying to get funds from some of his listeners. If I had to guess I would say he could not find any sponsors and had no more money and that is why his show is going off the air.

I've always loved Duff. He's seem to fallen off the face of the Earth with a lack of minutes and poor health. I hope he can rediscover his form at Craven Cottage. I don't know what this means for their current starting left-winger though... Didn't they just re-up Deuce's contract and make him one of their highest paid players? I think they will find a place for him to play.
