  1. He rested Kuyt, as well. Liverpool 2-0.
  2. Oh, and additionally, I might (25% chance, apparently) be going to Anfield to see Liverpool against OM. My mate is certainly going. Unless he contracts dengue fever or something. I don't think my shipment will make it in in time.
  3. I'm supporting (as ever) Valencia and Olympique de Marseille in this year's tournament. I expect more from the former than the latter, who couldn't win a prize in a Reader's Digest draw at the moment.
  4. Everyone loves him. I think he was over-played, because of Liverpool's desperation to find a partner for Fowler and a replacement for Rush, too young and finds himself injury prone now - and has been for a while now. Too much stress on the still-developing body is not such a good thing.
  5. I will be interested to see the results of this thing.
  6. Game over. Toon get fried.
  7. Brand it. It will stand - if nothing else - as a testament to the mood around baseball at the time Bonds broke the record.
  8. Owen went off - I wasn't listening at the time, but the commentators say he looked like he had a 'twinge'. Injury time now, 4 minutes.
  9. Feilhaber just came on for Derby who lead 1-0 with about 10 minutes left.
  10. I would bet, say, £5 on Michael Owen being injured again. (Newcastle is one word, by the way. It 'abbreviates' to Toon')
  11. This could be going worse right now.
  12. Cubs lose. Astros score more than 100 runs.
  13. I went with Lilly; I feel more like I can trust him to be solid than Z.
  14. He was, it was just completely unexpected.
  15. What was Bob talking about? Iron filings man?
  16. Just looked at Braun's posing; it was fairly reminiscent of Soriano's last night, in my opinion.
  17. Its just a shame when something like that happens - and must be really frustrating for the players, too
  18. Brodsworth Miner's Welfare vs. Hallam FC. Broddy started really brightly and then let one in on the break. The referee gave a penalty for a ball-to-hand handball that was outside the box (count the errors!) early in the second half. Justice was done when the Broddy keeper saved it - it was quite a poor penalty, but then he ordered a re-take for reasons no-one could really understand. The game died as a contest after that.
  19. A cross came to him (from the right of the picture as we look) and he half-volleyed it from quite a low position (looked a little scuffed) back across the goal. Michael Owen's goal is easier to understand. Nice control, good finish from 20 or so yards. The game I was at this afternoon was ruined by an over-zealous referee; I hate it when that happens.
  20. I'm late into this thread (fnar, fnar) but I have no problem with the decision so long as it isn't something that isn't held against him longterm (assuming he doesn't keep showing up late).
  21. I plan on it in about a month's time. Hopefully it'll work out, and if it does, I won't be posting here so much. (No internet access)
  22. If Neifi had stayed off the drugs....
  23. I've not seen Rich Hill for ages. Hope he impresses me again.
