  1. It never feels like that when you're going through it. I guess you worry they're gonna lose every game whereas in reality they've been doing alright.
  2. As a Marseille fan, I'm worried about Liverpool. That was an AWFUL Liverpool performance at Anfield last year, and the 4-0 at the Velodrome was out of character for both. I'd fancy Liverpool to shade it tonight, but a draw, I think, for both teams would be decent - not many teams will win in Marseille, and not many teams will beat Liverpool. What chance of Robbie Keane's first goal in a red (although I guess they'll wear turquoise) shirt?
  3. I don't know if he'll need to play well, to be honest. I don't see an experimental Trinidad team causing him too many problems - but don't tell him that if you're sucking up. Tell him it was all his own work. That's gonna bite me on the ass, isn't it?
  4. England haven't had the World Cup since 1966, and have even gone to the trouble of coaxing the Trinidad vote. I want to see Bolivia vs. Saudi Arabia in my hometown!
  5. I can see the appeal of Klinsmann, but he's still something of a risk at this stage - that's all I'm saying. U.S.A. in England? That'll be interesting. I'll be able to properly update my American PES team for the game.
  6. 12,838 people were there?
  7. Has Klinsmann done enough to be thought of as one of the best coaches in the world? He's promising, sure, but it could all so easily be a one-off thus far.
  8. I'll keep my eyes on the new MLS season. Nothing like close enough for Fantasy play, but on it.
  9. This answered my first question, then. I'm liking the look of the board, the ads are a bit annoying but I can live with them. Now can anyone explain why I read through this thread thinking (at first glance) all Roast's posts were mine?
  10. Isn't Christmas a little while after Rocktober?
  11. OHIO!!!!!! SUCKS! That's not how the song goes... :-s Tin soldiers and Nixon coming?
  12. Thanks, US, for winning my bet at 10/3.
  13. Its a really poor reference, too, unless Feilhaber is a regular wearer of ludicrous wigs/glasses. Like scoring a goal against the Czech Republic and the commentator shouting 'Oh, that is a Bo-he-mian Rhapsody'. No need. That said, its often the bad bits of commentary that get remembered.
  14. I would be shocked if Abreu was not a Yankee next season. I often find myself using Bobby Abreu's name to express something good (sort of elongated - Aaaaabreeeeeeee-oooooooo (ish)) so it'd be useful if he was a Cub.
  15. Boy is that post easy to misread.
  16. I'm sure I saw some playoff baseball last year, but all the games seem way late this year, and I'm not going to stay up through them. I do get the feeling that reading the recaps the morning after is the best way of seeing some of the games, though I might make an effort to see Wake's start.
  17. So we're taking around 125 days before those photos of Zambrano looking muscly and Kerry Wood looking emaciated start doing the rounds again? Count me in.
  18. March 1st, you say? I make that 139 days. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
  19. I can't get on at work. :-x Somebody noticed the site was getting a lot of play, and blocked it.
  20. What about great Mathletes?
  21. However far the Cubs get, I'm gonna get the cap for the last success.
  22. That's awesome. Really. I'm gonna watch it again. Try not to join in the commentary this time.
  23. On the 125th anniversary of the club, no less.
