  1. Huntsville goes up 2-0 on a homer by Palmisano. Marmol gives up a triple to Chavez after getting squeezed on the previous pitch. It's now pouring in Huntsville.. rain delay..
  2. Huntsville up 1-0 thru three.. RBI double by Drew Anderson. The "special programming" comes on at three CDT.. ridiculous
  3. Jaxx leave runners at second and third.. scoreless into the bottom of the third
  4. Scoreless entering the third in Huntsville..
  5. Real Estate talk eh?? Par for the course in Jackson.. And you folks wonder why I want to get the flip out of Dodge.. lol Enjoying the game.. 0-0 top 2
  6. Hey guys, sorry the game isn't on the air today. Blame it on the freakin radio station for not caring..
  7. I didn't want to be greedy since I said it the last time Don pitched.. lol
  8. Should be another outstanding matchup in Jackson tonight. This has been a terrific series if you like pitching. I invite everyone to listen in and send me an e-mail during the course of the broadcast (jaxxradio@aol.com).
  9. BUEHLER... BUEHLER...
  10. Just listening in to the broadcast will make you feel like your there.. as long as I DON'T do the broadcast.. lol
  11. There is NO WAY the Mets would trade Milledge for Marshall.
  12. J.K. is pitching out of the bullpen now in Iowa.. he made his debut out of the 'pen last night at Fresno...
  13. High-A to Double-A because any decent prospect can put up huge numbers in A-ball. If a player can make the jump from High-A to Double-A, they go from a decent prospect to a legitimate prospect.
  14. I always wanted to do this.... THE DON!!!!
  15. Brandon put up monster numbers in 2004 and 2005 in High-A and Double-A ball when he was 23 and 24 years old respectively. I got news for you folks, that's the average age for a player in High-A and Double-A ball. Had Brandon put up large numbers in Double-A at 26, he would be considered old..24 ain't old, it's average. Is Brandon a big-time prospect in the organization?? Not at this time, but he can be a player to watch if he gets his offensive problems straightened out.
  16. To answer the question why Fox hasn't been called up to Double-A yet is a simple one. There is a log jam of catchers in the Cubs organization. Geovany Soto is in Triple-A as the starting catcher, Jose Reyes (who is on the Cubs 40-man roster) is the Double-A starter. If Fox were to flip-flop with Jaxx C Tony Richie, all Fox would be in Double-A is a backup to Reyes. By leaving him in Daytona, Fox is playing everyday, which is exactly what the Cubs want. I expected Reyes to be in Triple-A to start the year, but with no movement from the parent club as far as Soto getting a big league job, it became obvious that Reyes would be starting in West Tenn.
  17. Dope IS NOT back... the official scorer made a mistake. Jon-Mark Sprowl, who is wearing Dopirak's old number (56), was the player who pinch-hit in the ninth inning.
  18. Hopefully I get to meet you and your family.. looking forward to our next roadtrip..
  19. Just a reminder, the Jaxx game will be picked up in progress following the election return coverage. We should be on somewhere after 8 p.m. CDT. Just out of curiousity, have the broadcasts sounded okay to this point??
  20. This afternoon the Diamond Jaxx placed Randy Wells on the seven day DL with disomfort in his right elbow. Federico Baez has been brought back from Triple-A Iowa to take Wells spot on the roster.
  21. He's not a CF.. never will be a CF.. he needs to be put in left or right. He has done well in the outfield to this point. He has a strong enough arm to play in right, but is more suited for left... That's my personal scouting report on Luis (not that I am a scout.. lol)
  22. It won't be Cash on the hill tonight. He is down with scar tissue from the TJ surgery. He isn't throwing for another 4-5 days. Federico Baez will get the spot start tonight.
  23. If you kids want to listen to old-time radio, listen to the internet broadcast.. http://www.wnws.com I am broadcasting the game with a crowd mic.. fun stuff.. just got it to work in the bottom of the 1st inning.
  24. Craig, I'm sorry I wasn't able to get back to you sooner. If you guys have listened to the first four broadcasts, you know that I have had some MAJOR drama with the crowd noise or lack there of. Anyway, everything is set to go after a trip to my favorite audio store in the whole world (Radio Shack). Let's talk about Marmol. The first thing that was obvious was his incredible velocity on the fastball. He was 93 on a slow gun here in Birmingham. He also had alot of sink on his fastball and curve, hence the groundballs. Now let's talk Rapada. He is 6-5 and 185. Lean and mean as I like to say. He has four average pitches (fastball, change, slider and a sweeping curveball). Honestly, I think the fact that he uses all four pitches is a big reason for his success. Think about this: If a relief pitcher can locate all four pitches consistently around home plate, the batter has a 1 in 4 chance of guessing right instead of a say 1-2 chance. I have no idea why Clay wasn't drafted but everybody else's loss is the Cubs potential gain. He has looked really good but I want to see what he does against a better hitting team. I can see him as a good LOOGY in the show if he continues to display good control.
  25. When he planted his foot rounding second base, he landed very awkwardly on it. He limped back to second and then advanced to third base on a single by Montanez. He should have scored, but barely got to third. That's when I knew something was wrong. Honestly, I thought it would be a light sprain. Just an awful way to start the season (even though we have looked good through the first two games).
