Uh, not really. It was a 3-1 count. Who is coming up after JJ? Neifi, Blanco, Maddux. Not exactly RBI machines. I'd say it was a fine place to run. Better to let JJ swing, if he gets out then Neifi/Blanco/Maddux go down 1-2-3 the next inning and you go back to the top of the order for the inning after that. I would disagree, although that is a really good point. I would argue that with the Cubs up by 3, and Maddux on the mound, if Murton can get into scoring position it would be much easier for Jones/Neifi/Blanco to score him. Worth the risk imo. Plus, there might be a PH for Maddux.
