  1. Good. Someone within the Cubs organization needs to step up and say it. Patterson has been horrible this year but in no way is Todd Hollandsworth getting anywhere near the production that is needed out of a corner outfield spot. I don't really care what position they play as far as their production is concerned. All I care about is winning games, and it's pretty clear that Todd is helping us to win games more than Corey is. Now, if we can upgrade in left, I'd love to do it, don't get me wrong. But at this point, I don't think the Cubs will contend with Patterson playing everyday. well you are right and wrong. They need to upgrade, but they will contend because the pitchign is that good. I disagree, I don't think our offense is good enough to support our great pitching. And that doesn't make me "wrong" either. That's my opinion. ok calm down I was just saying in my opinios you were wrong. reguardless I think if Jim stands pat until the dealine we should just be sellers anyways. I think our pitchign will keep us close though even with this crap offense.

Hendry did an absolutely, horrible job this off season.
  4. another week at this rate and we will be behind the astros again.
  5. what good is having a filthy curveball if all you ever wanna do is throw fastballs with two strikes? Let them get themselves out mark, #-o
  6. I for one would keep throwing pitches right down the middle to crappy hitters on 2 strike counts.
  7. Mini? I think his avg dropped 20 point in the past 8 games or so. Of course when your average is that high its not that hard 2 for his last 14' date=' I believe.[/quote'] Corey would kill for a lee mini slump right about now.
  8. Not a bad question... I agree you can't send blanco on that play, but why waste prior who is probably a better hitter than at least a third of our lineup then?
  9. what good is bunting a guy to second if he cant score on a hit anyways?
  10. It's not that simple. The only deals available now are players we're not too excited about, ie Preston Wilson. I don't buy that. Last year Beltran was had before the deadline. There are guys out there that gms know about. There's no players like Beltran available this year. Beltran was a unique situation. He was an impending FA on a team with no chance that everyone knew they couldn't afford. Who have you pegged that fits that description this year? I think we have all pegged aubrey huff as that type player. He may not be great but he is quite a bit better than what we have in left. That wasnt a strike to corey.

  12. When i started reading that I thought you meant Pat Hughes. And after what happened last year with the tv team I took it seriously... ha yeah true. Way to not take a walk Jose. I mean sure henry pry wont get him in either but it would help turn the lineup over.
  13. how long will Jim stand pat? Every year he costs us games along the way just waiting until the deadline. Last year he possibly could have cost us the playoffs by waiting until the deadline to add something everyone knew we needed the entire year. Seems to be content to do the same in left this year.
  14. hope todd homers cause after him we look bad.
  15. of course 2-0 now way to not waste an 0-2 pitch mark.
  16. until we have any kind of replacement that doesn't kill us defensively. Even todd walker who has ripped corey batting leadoff has said he has to play everyday. Even if his average drops under .220? Under .200? I'd be suprised if he goes under the mendoza line, but not that surprised considering the way things are going. yeah i mean a few years ago we challeneged for the division with gary matthews jr hitting right around there. corey has had pretty good success in the past. at some point I think he has to come on really strong.

  18. does anyone think we are a playoff team looking at that lineup?
  19. Because Dusty rests everyone when we have a chance. Macias in right? He also benched our hottest hitter in Walker...even though I know the split theory. Plus Maddux is throwing batting practice. yeah but the weather plays tricks on that. Both ways I guess. Macias should never ever start. There are so many other ways to move guys around that make more sense.
  20. jeez greg today might be a good day to quit falling behind 2-0
  21. Dunn hits sace flies all the time. They just happen to go out of the park, This is a no branier if we can get him, get him. I will help pack Sergio and Todd's bags.
