He got too big of a secondary lead. The pitch was outside and it was an easy throw to third. And yeah, that ball was clearly a HR. I don't know how you can miss that... same way they always miss every bordeline call agaisnt us. because we are the loveable losers. -
Baker IS an idiot and overrated as a manager. It's that simple. How can he be overrated when everyone bashes him all the time? He was overrated before he was hired as the CUbs manager. But I think we as fans know now that he is not a good manager. I personally like managers who have won in 9 of the 13 seasons they have been managing. (I'm not saying some of Dusty's moves drive me nuts, but there are plenty in the game worse than Dusty) i personally would have loved to manage barry bonds all those years too.

Baseball malpractice is what it is. With all due respect to people that say Dusty is even an average manager, his continued lineups of this nature say otherwise. It may be one small aspect of the game, but it is a hugely significant one. He has wasted three months of the most potent bat in the league. Does that sound like something an average manager would do? so it would be the equivalent of Bobby Knight having Scott May play point guard? Yeah that's average. So you're comparing the '05 Cubs to the greatest college basketball team of all time? what when did i bring up 68 ucla??

I usually just swear. me too. my girlfriend won't watch with me anymore, which is good because she asks too many damned questions anyways. Yeah. My wife feels that way about me watching Cubs games. She thinks I'm torturing myself. She also feels that way about me complaining about the ESPN commentators. She asks questions like "Do you hate every sports commentator?" and "Do you really think you could do a better job than them?" The answers to those questions are Yes and Yes. i don't think she likes those answers. she watched the college basketball championship game with me and was surprised how under control I was. I told her just getting there was so hard that no matter what happened I was just thrilled. The only thing I yelled about was Sean May being allowed to bulldoze us. I called him quite a few names and threatened the lives of his parents and future children. oh and I disowned Jordan, but then later forgave him because without him none of my teams would have ever won anything.
