    What? the poster in question is a friend of mine who has played professional baseball and definately has a great knowledge of the behind the scenes stuff. If he was booted for what he wrote in this thread I am really scratching my head. It would be a real shame to lose a poster that played professional baseball and has a great knowledge of the behind the scenes stuff and therefore was able to provide brilliant contributions such as an eye roll icon with no other comment to a perfectly valid post. I only wish I had enough experience to provide that kind of insight! yes because many here don't find Nomar to be overrated. I know I do. What has the guy done for us? Nothing he has done in the NL constitutes more than an eye roll as a response to him being the guy who would have started the all star game.

    Its good to see we kicked off a poster that was much closer to big league baseball than any of us here because he was a cardinals fan. I really don't get what DeePujols said to get him banned. I am a cubs fan and don't think we can say for sure that Nomar should have been at the all star game. He was hitting .180. He also admitted Felipe Lopez should be the starter. :roll:

    Plus the Nationals lost. I think they're going to fall off fast and the Braves will take the East again. Then it's up to us to catch the Marlins and Nationals/Phillies/Mets for the Wild Card. Houston won't hang. I agree with everything but about Houston. I think they will again make the big move and acquire Dunn.

    won't happen as we have Neifi leading off the inning. WIll we designate him for assignment here in a week when he is hitting .230? Or do we just do that to the young guys? Ok,I know I was wrong about Corey. but I can GUARANTEE you that Neifi is out of options. good all the more reason to do it. like anyone is going to pick him up anyway.

    we should just save the time and forefeit. I don't think Prior throwing a no hitter would win this game, it would just guarantee extra innings.

What a farce. Are you referring to Carlos Beltran? He has been pretty average this year. If you're keeping guys at their positions, the OF should be Cabrera, Andruw Jones and Abreu; if you're playing guys out of position then put Jason Bay or Abreu in CF. I don't have as much of an issue with Edmonds starting because he has at least been good this year and hasn't been much worse than Andruw Jones. Rolen is not even close to ARam, David Wright or Ensberg (the latter two got left off) and Eckstein is way, way behind Felipe Lopez. Even Bill Hall deserved to make it ahead of Eckstein. Cesar Izturis doesn't belong on the team, either. I'm assuming by Carlos he is talking about the one playing in the far north Chicago suburbs. yes carlos lee should be starting. Carlos Beltran should be a cub.
