  1. North Carolina in North Carolina is a good game oh and Georgetown is a tourny team as well.
  2. we should trade for Deron Wiliams. Did anyone else see Alphonso Soriano in the crowd tonight? I swear he was there and my brother said he thought so too.
  3. North Carolina, Oregon, and Xavier are all good teams. The rest well not so much. But, hey we are in reloading mode.
  4. I think the more realistic placement then would be Perez at second. Dusty will not start two rookies everyday.
  5. Where are the rumors that they're shopping Z. I thought this was thrown out there by one of us. well hoops has predicted some big thigns before, Dlee to cubs.
  6. yesterday they resign Perez for two years. today they are rumored to be shopping Z. does this team want to rid itself of its pesky fan base that keeps it afloat?
  7. Pretty good deal for a guy that can catch the ball. I'm excited about this signing and I can't wait to see what Hendry will do next! stirke three will be the horrible walker deal that is coming. At this point he has to sign Furcal and trade for Soriano to Dusty proof this situation he has created.
  8. well at least the royals have Billy Butler and Alex Gordon coming. I think I am gonna just go in on season tickets to them as opposed to watching the Cubs all year, unless serious improvements are made. I will still hope they win, but I just cannot put myslef through watching another season like last year again.
  9. You guys know that Luis Sojo led the dominican league last winter in hitting. Sure he is retired and coaching for the Yankees now, but I bet if we gave them Z they would send him to us and be the 2B that catches the ball to go with Neifi.
  10. really makes you wear that believe bracelet proud doesn't it?
  11. well the white sox did it, so by that logic we will go get wagner, ryan , and burnett. but wait, we won't do that we will just half ass it and hope this year those young rookies/prospects Rusch and Perez come into their own
  12. why dont we just go ahead and trade Z and Prior for Suppan and Matt Morris and completely destroy what made us a fun team to watch a couple of years ago? This is a joke, Jim Hendry is worthless. They gave Neifi Perez a raise based on last years performance. Think of this applied to regular day activities. Well Doctor you just cut that man who had a heart attacks head off and glued it to his stomach, but you have been here before so here is a raise and two year extension. I cannot handle this team at all right now.
  13. Look at it this way: through 2 games we are 1 ahead of last years pace! we will be through three too. All we needed was one rebound too. Oh well its early.
  14. Hendry cannot be that dumb. Right?? 8-[ Hopefully there is no rush to sign him and Neifi is showered with offers to start elsewhere. Hendry brings him back and I quit. I don't need this crap. I don't deserve this crap. I have stuck around for 20 years of this crap and I just can't take us employing Neifi Perez for a third straight year. This makes me really want Furcal and a trade for Soriano(obp aside) I cannot handle antoher year of Neifi.
  15. The Gold Glove voting is becoming more of a joke everyday. You got that right! In 04' both Schneider & Patterson were far better defensively than Matheny & Edmonds. This award has 0 credibility. Offense stats shouldn't matter when it comes to this award, but it does & that is ridiculous. See: Alex S. Gonzalez If he was so good with the glove we would have been in the world series in 03.
  16. Yeah, the Sox aren't exactly a budding dynasty. they could get better and younger though if they go with McArthy and Anderson in the outfield. Plus they have Sweeny and Chris Young in the wings. I don't think they are a dynasty but they did just win the freaking world series. Sweeney needs to hit more than 1 HR in a full minor league season for me to think highly of him. Chris Young is still a high-risk, high-reward prospect. We'll see how McCarthy and Anderson do next year (it'd be a shame if Brian Anderson wasn't starting next year in their OF). No doubt their farm system is better than the Cubs, but it's not like these young kids are studs, outside of maybe Young. Chris Young is Felix Pie, yet we are all pumped over Felix.

  18. 100 years in 08 I would say we lucked into 03. If this frnachise has proven one thing it is that it has no plan or winning staying power.
  19. 2003 was our chance. Alex Gonzalez, Dusty Baker, and God ruined it for us. It would have been three great stories in a row and we would have done it first. Oh well congrats to the White Sox, I would give my left arm for the Cubs to do what they did.
  20. OK, so I should have specified "under the current financial situation." And, under the current financial situation, I think it's clear that a few cities cannot support their teams. That's why baseball needs to modify the current system. It would be in the best interests for everyone not named the Yankees. If baseball expands into more locales, then there will be more baseball fans. It's much easier to be a fan when you can travel to a game every once in awhile. I think baseball needs to find a way to share more local revenue while insuring that the revenue shared is spent on on-the-field talent. When that does, I think there are a number of markets which could support a team and it would improve the health of a number of existing teams. there has to be a bottom line they have to spend on the team then if there is more revenue sharing. I read an article that stated the Royals, or David Glass, makes $30 million by not paying a lot for his players through the money generated by revenue sharing. I can see why Steinbrenner doesn't wanna pay for the other leagues to do nothing.
  21. he sleeps on a big pile of money with gorgeous women.
  22. how is that song tasteless? What does God have to do with baseball? So what should they do then take me out to the ballgame? Heck why not they got Bernie Mac there. Maybe he can say root for the champions again.
  23. she is the hack who went from being alternative and anti pop to playing pop, correct.
