  1. Not hard to see why these guys are better than us. Their super sub is freel, ours is the neifiury.
  2. Marmol looked pretty good again. I am so glad to see him given this chance. Have they said what Guzman's role is going to be with the club this time around? Please take Rusch's spot.
  3. Point taken about the coaches but...Patterson is having a good season by Corey Patterson standards but he isn't have that great of a season other than SBs. To think Pie will never match the year Patterson is having...is depressing. I don't think it's asking too much for a teams top position prospect to have a better year than what Patterson is having. Well really I don't think he will. I think EPatt has a better shot at being a productive big leaguer for us. We have a poor track record with players with Pie's skill set.
  4. I blame Patterson. CPatt was making stupid swings at some really bad pitches, and looked worse than most rookies. Doesn't matter if you're batting 1st or 7th. I can't blame the coaching staff for his stubborn attitude. If Pie is trying to learn patience at the plate at age 21 in Iowa, what does that say about Corey's willingness to learn? I doubt Pie ever has a season as good as the one Patterson is having. Patterson was a better prospect than Pie and odds are will be a better pro. Especially since he isn't being coached by the the cubs and Pie will be.
  5. Is Huber still a better prospect than Buck, or is he going to move out from behind the plate. I am pretty sure he already has. Sounds like he may not have the defense to stick anywhere from what I have gathered. Think 1b/dh Yeah, that's what I've gathered too. That is a problem too, I have seen Wichita a few times this year and Butler falls into the same catergory. Alex Gordon should be the All Star rep for the Royals right now. If Guillen had any balls he would select him from there team. Really? I haven't seen anything but highlight from when he's played against the Rockhounds and he seems atleast average in the field. Going through his stats he's only made 4 errors this year and he seems to be playing RF every night. I guess maybe I have just caught three of his errors in person then. The bad thing on all of them was that they were routine flyballs right too him. I think he is another Mike Sweeney.

  7. No, he's a FA after next year. Like it matters after what the fans and team did to Corey I doubt any amount of money would bring him back here. Lets just be happy he found a home and hope that he keeps it up.
  8. Good for Corey. Just think how good Kerry Wood will be for someone next year.
  9. I'd rather get DLEE for Hee Seop Choi. I think we have gotten the best of the in some trades as well.
  10. Clayton and Ozzie BOTH had better years than they should have............ probably because of the way Larussa used them. TLR should be commended for getting the most out of both of them. Ozzie doesn't get it. He didn't have the stamina to be a full-timer at that point in his career. It would have been ugly (just like it was in '95). Ozzie should thank Larussa for putting him in a position to succeed in '96, so he wouldn't have to go out on the miserable note of 1995. Just like how he masterfully used Womack in '04'. Face it something happens when a guy puts on a Cardinals uniform. Don't believe me ask Woddy Williams, Julian Tavarez, or Cal Eldred.
  11. Of course it was, he was on the Cardinals after all.
  12. Cedeno over Cintron? Maybe. Ok maybe two. Still look at all of those high numbers next to their obps.
  13. Jesus, Barrett is the only guy on our team who would start for these guys. Nice job Jim Hendry.
  14. Why cause you were on the Sox? That pitch was right down the middle.
  15. If Jim Thome is still a cub fan he should throw these games to get us going.
  16. Good to see Dusty is starting to get through to Murton.
  17. I have never seen a player get such horrible swings on pitches right down the middle.
  18. freaking pierre it should be almost impossible for someone who slaps at the ball to hit into a double play.
  19. Anyone think the WBC factored into his slow start?
  20. Ha just another example of the Cubs flat out lying about there players health. I am sure before too much longer Mark will need Tommy John surgery but will miss part of next year too since we didn't take care of the problem right away. And there's another example of craziness. Yeah I'm sure Mark would chance his carerr on that. His dad watches over him and hsi doctors closely. Something was wrong with him, but it isn't near Tommy John bad. I think. At this point I just wish they would tell the fans anything. I mean we haven't really heard anything about him forever, sans he has no major tearage.

  22. Actually I have a huge problem with even offering a first year to Perez. Brian Giles wasn't coming to Chicago. He wasn't going anywhere but San Diego. That ship has sailed. People need to get over that one. In what I would call typical Cub luck, when the finally had the money to spend on big-ticket free agents, there weren't any worth spending the money on. Although, if they had signed Furcal Lee might not be on the DL. Of course everybody would be screaming they should have passed on Furcal and let Cedeno play. Another example of how Hendry lacks forsight to be a good GM. Isn't Hendry resigning Neifi and Glendon kind of like giving a pedophile a job at your local grade school? You just know it is gonna go bad.
  23. We should have kept Patterson and the three pitchers we gave to Florida. We should have gave Brian Giles a much, much harder push. In hindsight we should have brought back Nomar. Although with his injury history I can understand why we didn't do that.
  24. Why not get the good ones, like Willis and Cabrera. At least we still don't have Conine or Lenny Harris. Why do I feel like you should have to say yet as you finish that thought? Funny, I thought the same thing after I clicked on submit. Although if we would have kept Lenny in 03 we might have swept the fish because then Dusty wouldn't have chose to face Lowell before Lenny. God I love the Dusty Baker era.
