Pretty much every team goes through that funky 7 to 10 day stretch when they struggle. The key of course is to take advantage of that timeframe! Not when they are way better than the rest of the league. We didn't two years ago and I doubt Wiscy does this year.
-
wisky needs to lose a game befoe anyone else can even think about winning the conference. Hell even OSU has only one loss.
-
Ho hum 5 out of the last 6 against the Hoosiers. Now we got to find away to beat them at their place.
-
Oh we are cooked. Two starters out. You are still awful, you play hard and have had an easy big ten schedule thus far. Plus the big ten sucks besides the two big teams. About how it has been the last 5 years with just two new teams at the top. Alhtough I guess it was three and wiscy remained. Awful? #16 RPI # 8 Pomeroy #15 Sagarin I'll take that kind of awful any day of the week. 14-4. 4 losses to Butler, KY, Duke, and Ohio St. Don't forget IU is now ranked in the AP and ESPN/USA Today polls. Pretty good for an "awful" team. Also, every team IU has lost to is ranked in the ESPN/USA Today poll. HAHA "awful." Oh yeah you guys are pretty much a lock to make the final four. You have done a nice job up to this point, but I still don't think you are all that good. Maybe after I really get to watchyou tomorrow I will feel different. Who said anything about the final four? You said IU is awful. If you really believe that, it is pretty clear you don't know anything about basketball. Just played in college, but hey don't have to know anything about college ball to play in it right? If you really believe IU is an "awful" team, I don't care if you coached in college. I don't care if you are Bruce freaking Weber, if you believe a 14-4, 4-1 team ranked in both polls that hasn't lost to a team outside the top 25, undefeated at home, one of the best teams in the Big Ten in scoring and defense is "awful" then yes you are clueless. Ok they aren't awful. I am of the opinion that they aren't that good and that when they finally start playing road games in the Big 10 a lot of people will get to see that. As of right now I don't think Weber knows uch about squat. He thinks his players need to stop celebrating and start concentrating during games. Yeah that's it Bruce it isn't your garbage motion offense. Funny how good that puppy looked when future NBA All Star Deron Williams was running it.

The NBA season is too long.

Didn't play at that level of college. I got a scholarship, but trust me there were no blazers. Nice joke though.

 Unreal, or the Bulls could put a product out there that was good enough that this wouldn't happen. You think this would have happened when Jordan and Pippen were there? I can't stand how Chicago people don't understand that some people that live in the city want to support the hometown school. If Farmar would have been picked by Utah and then came to play the Clippers and the fans would have screamed for Farmar to come in I am sure you would have took issue with it. I believe they were chanting before the game even started, and even when the Bulls had tied up the game. If I were a Clipper fan, I'd take issue if Farmar (and he was the 12th man on the roster) came back to LA and the fans cared more about seeing him than watching the home team...of course I already said something similar earlier in the thread (in regards to Kapono/Miami and Hollins/Charlotte, who were two guys I liked way more at UCLA than Farmar). Well then you are a strange fan. It was the kids hometown and the crowd wanted to see him, I don't see how that is hard for you to understand.

I would have totally paid a ton for the utah game.
-
He is what he is. We paid a ton of money for an older version of what we already had. It made no sense.

I'd say it is whining. Get over it. Sampson should have called Weber, obviously, and he didn't. That's it. Don't act like you (by that I mean Illini fans) and Weber didn't know it was a possibility. Yeah, the kid told you he was still coming to UI when he had clearly re-opened his recruiting with IU. It was obvious to everyone with half a brain that Gordon might go to IU. He ultimately bailed on UI, but it clearly wasn't a surprise and I'm not sure what Weber would could have done about it even if Sampson or Gordon had been openly clear to him about what was going on. Second of all, I assume the "let's brawl" comment was a joke. Who cares it's done now. . Apparently a lot of people still care or it would be repeatedly brought up. With this game looming you can't really be suprised. I don't really care about Pearl anymore, but two years ago it was talked about because we were about to play them.
-
Kind of like Chandler was. We should have kept Tyson and tried to trade for Paul Pierce.

He could have really went hard after ETwaun Moore and Dar Tucker who played the same spot and said hey EJ won't be here to take your minutes. But, yeah besides crippling our recruiting class with both actions Sanctions was a saint. Who cares it's done now. Sampson is what he is, a &%#@. He will get his come uppance in the end.

Don't do it. Luol Deng is pretty close to Pau right now and is the one getting better. Is he? He's definetly improved, but is he so much better than Noc or Thomas that we wouldn't give him up for a low post scoring threat? I think so, I could be wrong. I just think it is a young team. Let the team grow together. If anything they need to trade one of the two combo guards and get a real point or a big two. Isn't Thabo that guy, though? I don't know we still get abused by the Nets. A team we are better at except for one important spot. I know he needs more time to grow, but if we are watining for him we might as well stay pat and see what the three small forwards become before we move one of them. Our being abused by the Nets has as much to do with cold outside shooting and bad rebounding as it does the matchup with Gordon guarding Kidd or Carter. Gasol helps that. Also, having Thabo in the game on Kidd or Carter would help as well, but that's a Skiles issue. Skiles is a hard guy to figure out. They have done better under him to be sure, but I wonder if it wasn't just natural progression of talent as opposed to the coach. You could be right that Gasol would help for the right now. That said I think Deng is only scratching his potential. I would hate to see us get rid of a future star for a role player for a team that is at least two years away from being a serious contender for a championship.

I hope Smith is hurt, cause as a guy who was only a shooter myself if he isn't, well he is in trouble. I feel so bad for Randle. His injuried have robbed him of his explosiveness. He was crying after the game during his interview against Wiscy, I think he is as frustrated as you can be. I really would go. Frazier McBride Carter Pruitt Carwell Weber has to start recruiting at a higher level though. Frazier is a damn fine backup point guard. He would have looked really good behind a Sheron Collins. If this doesn't happen I think Bruce's job will be in jeopardy soon. This IU game is almost a must win for him because of what hass went down between the two programs the last year. I believe Weber is well aware of the fact that he must step up his recruiting, his 2008 class is key. Let's hope he learned some hard lessons from the Gordon and Rose recruitments and pulls in good class - there is the potential for a stellar class: Lewis Jackson, Michael Dunigan amongst others. Of his 2007 class, I'm thinking McCamey and Watkins will be solid contributors, Cole and Tisdale seem like projects to me. I'm not expecting much from either of them. Well until we get any of the '08 kids I am notholding my breath. We lloked great for Sheron. Had Gordon. Should have been able to beat Memphis for DRose, Memphis wtf. But, BAM didn't get any of that done. I think Lewis Jackson is the key. Oh and also I just heard on the radio Randle and Pruitt both might not play against IU. Man these injuries are great. Fantastic!!! For sh**ts and giggles throw in a hobbled Jamar Smith and Chester Frazier, coupled with facing that beacon of ethics Kelvin Sampson!!! For the record I don't begrudge Gordon for re-opening his recruitment and making the best decision for him. I do have a problem with the manner in which Sampson went about Gordon' recruitment. That's OK IU fans and KS, what goes around comes around, someday you're going to be on the other end of such a recruiment. It's ironic a guy who uses his cell phone so much couldn't pick it up to let Weber know the 411, isn't it? It sure is, we better watch it, or we'll be branded as whiners by the IU fans. Yeah the same fans who are ready to brawl in Champaign when surrounded by UI fans. I could give two cents.

Isn't a 23-17 record going into the game good enough to justify "fans" not starting chants for the opposing players and for Illinois before the game even started? The pro-Bulls chants weren't that loud at any point throughout the game. Even though, ostensibly, the Bulls fans outnumbered the Illini fans. WGN's constant mention of it bugged me a tad too. Yeah, most of your viewers are probably in the Midwest, but supposedly you're a national station, so why are you honking a college team you don't even broadcast games for? During the MLK game they mentioned about 15 times how Michael Finley was a Proviso grad and how this was a homecoming for him too. It happens when Chicago kids come home. When the Clippers had Q, DMiles, and Maggette they mentioned it a lot as well.

Damn work. Maybe the announcers should have left it alone, however Red is an Illinois alum so maybe he too wanted to see Dee play. The fans are fans they paid good money to go to the game and if they want to cheer for a guy to get in that is there own buisness. I mean there was a guy from my hometown who played in the NBA and you bet your last dollar everyone in our town would have done the same thing as all these fans did in Chicago for Dee Brown.

We have a chance to be tied for first and lose to a crappy St. John team. It's going to be a wide open race to the #1 spot for the Garden. I really love watching Big East basketball, sans Pitt. It is top to bottom much better than the ACC, yet never really gets the credit that it should. Cuse, why isn't Harris dominating more than what he has?
