  1. Yeah after he got away with two ropes for outs, then the two big guys get hits, it might have been a good time to go to your pen. It's pretty obvious why he didn't go to the pen. Atlanta's bullpen is terrible. Look at Yates right now. I have no problem with Cox leaving in Hudson for as long as he did. Man what happened to their pen? Did losing Wickman hurt it that much?

  3. I trust that you're capable of being optimistic, yet still appreciate how absolutely insane it would be to rely on, or plan around, Prior pitching even one single fastball for the Cubs next year. Mark Prior is going to shock the world next year. Hendry better not let him get away.
  4. Biggio, Berkman, Lee, Scott, Loretta, Wigginton and Ausmus are all in the Astros starting lineup today. Thats 7 of their 8 regulars. Did the Cardinals, Reds and Astros get pissed when we trotted out Theriot, Soto, Coats, etc last September. Did we sit anyone as good as Hunter Pence in their games? If we did, we should have been criticized too. Thats ridiculous. Why? After tomorrow they have a week and a half to sit the 24 year old Pence. If he is wore down.

  6. Yep, the Reds only try against the Cubs. Alos, the Astros try to lose against Milwaukee. The blame should be on the Cubs if they can't beat the Reds in a pennant race in September. Nobody is going to just let them win. Right, you don't think the Reds have the type of team to be in a pennant race in this division? I do. I think they underacheive year after year. I also don't think the Astros are trying to lose to the Brewers, I just don't think they care if they win. They are sitting their second best hitter after making a point of saying how they wouldn't do that against the cubs because they didn't want to impact the pennant race.
  7. Thank you reds for only giving this kind of effort against us. If they gave this kind of effort all year maybe they would actually be in a race once in a while.
  8. Cubs are 11-7 in September.Yeah, but we could have been better had we not lost the two tracshel games.
  9. I hope Lou doesn't decide to start Prior or something tomorrow.
  10. Lou sucks, he has totally flubbed up this last month.
  11. Is it just out of your possibillity to maybe give either Hopper or Keppiger some credit? I'd love to have them in the CUbs lineup now they way they have been playing. Keppinger maybe, Hopper, lol. Seriously Norris Hopper is terrible. I am sure you are a big fan of Nyjer Morgan too. No, but I happen to somewhat know Norris Hopper pretty well and he deserves the chance he is getting right now. It sucks that he's doing it against the Cubs but I'm happy for him nontheless. Same goes for Keppinger, who I told you yesterday is a good player, and better away from GABP. I don't care if you know him. He is a bum who is playing way over his head and is probably going to help cost us making the playoffs.

  13. I can't wait until Norris Hopper is back in the minor leagues in a year. I will then send him a note telling him to enjoy it.
  14. Good news is Houston is sitting Pence.
  15. I am only posting in this thread under protest. If the last game is overturned, then Derwood should be starting.
  16. Are you kidding me? Cubs in the playoffs are instant ratings. Oh that I know, but he owned the Brewers.
  17. That would be so very Cub-like, wouldn't it? I don't think I could handle that.
  18. please tell me Bud I used to own the Brewers Selig won't overturn this game.
  19. look a catcher with an arm, its too bad we didn't have control of him all year long.
  20. when does murton turn 30? So he can get a fair shake in this minor league organization.
  21. I mentioned earlier in the thread that I have full confidence that he will let the Cardinals roll over in that series. I would have thought so last year, but he and Lou are boys. I hope he won't do that now.
  22. Definitely possible. Yeah the Reds protest a game that means nothing to them, in which they have gotten the benefit of the doubt on several calls. Meanwhile the Astros called to ask me if I could pitch against the Brewers. Seems on the level to me. You honestly think the Astros are trying to lose don't you? No, but I don't think they care if they do. Whereas the Reds are really trying to play spoiler. the Astros definitely seem to be taking the 'let's see how these young guys do' route right now, whereas they did no such thing when we faced them last week. Yeah they made a point to say how they wouldn't do that because it would affect the integrity of the playoff race. Yet, now they have no problem doing it. It is a joke. It would be the equivalent of LaRusa saying hey we are out of it Pujols you take the milwaukee series off.
