  1. Ausmus has been getting like 60-65% of the starts God the Astros are stupid.
  2. That isn't a number to be crowing about, you know. If you wanted to rub it in, you would have referred us to his 1 HR given up in 47 IP or his 2.68 BB/9. :D He is 19 in high A. I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of strikeouts just yet.
  3. So have the Stros given up on Towles? Or is Ausmus just getting a spot start?
  4. ElCABALLO said in this thread that Z looks like he may finally put it together for a full year. Go look at his '04 and '05 stats. Z is one of the best pitchers in baseball who had a subpar year last year. Please don't act like he has never put together a full year before.
  5. wieters: .328/.413/.573/.986 parker: 4-1, 1.71 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, ~8 K/9 IP porcello: 3-4, 1.72 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 5.36 K/9 IP those were three correct answers to "who should the cubs draft with the #3 pick" We like to punt when we pick that high anyways.
  6. Raisin I have heard thta this is much like the Tyler Smith situation and that he will be able to play for you guys next year. Supposedly you are the school he is going to choose.
  7. note that this is absolutely a terrible way to judge whether a guy will be a good baseball player. Maybe, but I think the point he's making is fair: at the time we drafted Harvey, it was considered a great, great pick at the spot where we got him. Until his leg injury the year of the draft, he was definitely considered an easy top 3 pick, IIRC. So was Earl Cunningham when he was drafted. Same story, without the injury. The problem is the Cubs do not do a good job of developing these type players.
  8. Same high school as Darrel Arthur? I think I would check those grades were I UCLA.
  9. I think it was gone with no wind damn, Lee and Rammy are slumping lately and we are still winning. that bodes well for us.
  10. Thanks for showing up Boozer, you bum. Real nice series.
  11. This is the longest Gorzelanny has gone in any of his 3 starts against the Cubs this year. He is dealing.
  12. Lance Berkman became Babe Ruth this offseason.
  13. agreed... I really took it badly when we started losing again. If we can build up a nice 15 over .500 cushion, I can calm down and not let day to day affairs affect me. If we get 15 games over .500, I might lose my mind I figure with our luck we will and Houston and St. Louis will be a game and two back.
  14. I wish he would miss more bats though. Oh man Bay just ticked off Soto.
  15. Come on Sean the one way to lose this game is walks.
  16. agreed... I really took it badly when we started losing again. If we can build up a nice 15 over .500 cushion, I can calm down and not let day to day affairs affect me. It would be more fun if the Stros and Cards stopped playing out of their asses.
  17. I doubt they move him after trading away Milledge and Gomez. The two guys who could have taken his spot.
  18. He's been there quite a few times. Played it very well yesterday. I'm not talking about his glove, but he's a useless hitter playing at a corner infield spot. It's just sad. That's Cause Bautista sucks. Sounds like a team that needs to pick Pedro Alvarez.
  19. Why? THey have been very good besides playing us.
  20. Dave Littelfield was fired. I get the average, but firing Littlefield allowed him to hit homers at a Derrek Lee pace? Firing Littelfield let him play, which led to the HRs.. Seriously? I expected about 20 - 25 from him this year. Not 40. No idea. Really, did he show signs of hitting 25 a year while playing in the minors? I just remember knowing he always put up good minor league avg. and secondary avg. numbers, but never remember hearing or reading he would devleop into Grady Sizemore. Now with McCutheon on the way you guys have a nice problem to have.
  21. come on blue make laroche get out of the way.
