  1. Stupid wind. Why are none of are drives getting out?
  2. Yeah right, the Cardinals have to keep up their .600 winning percentage.
  3. The Rockies are shifting with every right handed hitter. But, it is working. They have taken away three possible hits.
  4. He would have dove, smothered it, and then not been able to make a play on it. Nope, he would have gritted it over and gotten the out.
  5. Seems like the wond stops blowing out when we are up.
  6. that is when you know things are going well.
  7. Well that wasn't Lofton's fault. He had a 120+ OPS with the cubs. Yes, but that's not the point. There's this fantasy out there that having a guy like Lofton "sparked" the offense and led us to the playoffs. The offense got worse, the pitching got enough better to make up for it. Yeah, but who would have thought that Lofton would end up more valueable than Prior 5 years later? Bet no one saw that coming.
  8. what is the deal with the stack overflow 0 thing?
  9. But who do they replace him with? I have faith that Hendry could find someone worse. If Pie isn't going to play, then I'd be in favor of a straight Johnson/Lofton platoon. Kenny should be good for a .350 OBP against righties. Is that even possible at this point? With Pie struggling at AAA right now, for the first time this year I'm actually intrigued about Lofton. Although his defense in center would be brutal. Oh it is possible. This is Jim Hendry we are talking about. You just challenged him, I see him getting Bob Dernier out of retirement anyday now. But, in order to do so will end up trading away Gallagher.
  10. Easy Dusty, it might be too late for that now being as we are down 7.
  11. Do you do drugs, Aramis Fan? Good, good. Caddyshack
  12. After 5 games, Lilly had a 7.30 ERA. Hill has a 4.12. Yeah we screwed over Hill. He screwed himself over. Why are we judging it on ERA anyway? no he didn't. He was no worse than Lilly and Marquis when he was sent down. In fact he was doing better than them.
  13. Why is that? He knocked the ball out of Edmonds glove, no wait Edmonds just dropped it. Gah.
  14. Good lord, if he isn't going to field he really has no value.
  15. After 5 games, Lilly had a 7.30 ERA. Hill has a 4.12. Yeah we screwed over Hill.
  16. If the Indians get hot you can forget about it. Indeed, but it's not going to stop me from praying. With what top prospects? Unless the Cubs can somehow negotiate an extension for him, I get the feeling he'd be a rental. The price won't be quite as steep as you might think. It's a supply/demand thing. There will be a ton of teams still in the race short on starting pitching, rental or not. Hell two teams in our division could make a better run at him that we can Milwaukee could offer Gamell and or LaPorta St. Louis could offer Rasmus and Anderson
  17. With what top prospects? Let's give them top five picks Ryan Harvey and Josh Vitters.
  18. No. Not at all either. I think if the Cubs wanna go far in the playoffs they're going to need to aquire a #2. Most people here have been saying that for most of this season. Lilly isn't this bad, but he's not a "true" #2 that you can hinge your playoffs on with the ace. yep...this is why i constantly pray for the bluejays to loose at least 95% of their games till the allstar break... BURNETT CHA CHA CHA Or we could just call our number 2 back up from Iowa. Rich Hill has not performed like a #2 at any point this season. I hope he does, but he's got to get things going in the right direction. Yes in his what, 3 starts up here he wasn't great. Which is shocking. Most guys are great every game they pitch. Come on we gave him 3 to 4 starts and then jerked him around. You know my stance on Hill, I'm not his biggest supporter, but I don't dislike the guy. Its not that his starts "weren't great". He was amechanical mess and had no idea where the ball was going. It would have been better if he was just getting hit, but he couldn't get it over the plate. Yeah, but why can we let Marquis suck up here, yet not let Hill get things figured out? They were still both giving us equal chance to win. To me it reeks of the same thing we are doing with Pie and Edmonds. Get rid of the young guy, while letting some washed up guy play.
  19. Either their second baseman is shifted greatly toward the bag or he has the greatest range ever. Soriano and Soto both hit balls that are usually hits.
