  1. Just jacked a 3 run bomb off of cole hamels.
  2. Or just show how dumb it is to say that "anything but a sweep is a failure." Not saying anyone in particular... don't even know who said it. I love how people who are so stat driven and realists think that a fan on a computer have anything to do with an outcome of a baseball game. I do? If you don't why the hell do you care if someone says it? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And if somebody's opinion is dumb, everybody else has a right to let them know. I don't think he was saying the fan on a computer has anything to do with the outcome, rather he was saying it's stupid to predict sweeps and say anything but a sweep is a failure. I guess, but I can see why some people would expect to sweep the Pirates. As it is I think we will be lucky to win the series now. Maholm is a decent pitcher.

  5. Wish DeRo would have took second since they were giving it to him. Then if Theriot can get on we still have a shot.
  6. What a terrible call. Not even [expletive] close.
  7. All three of the pitches to Soto were over the plate and would have been strikes. Same as his last AB. You can hit strikes the other way though, correct?
  8. Damn why the hell was wilson shifted so much?
  9. Man Doumit is having a great year. Can he catch at all Jake?
  10. When people do stupid crap, be it my favorite player or not, it's still stupid crap. It's one thing if you do the right thing and get a bad result. I'm OK with that. Swinging at the first pitch away (by a pull hitter, mind you) after the pitcher has walked two guys with two outs and the bases are loaded isn't what I would call smart. There are times to swing at a first pitch. That wasn't one of them. I'm pretty sure he thought he had a good pitch to hit, it just didn't work out for him. Ha, by that logic then you can't even get mad at CPatt. He thinks he is getting good pitches to hit.
  11. I was hating on his aprroach that inning, not him.
  12. I love that this guy has walked two this inning and then Soto swings at everything. :banghead:
  13. You know better than to use 32-inning stats. This is exactly what I'm talking about. People seem completely incapable of intellectual honesty with regards to Jason Marquis. Ok then...show me how Marquis is a better option than Marshall. If you are starting your own mafia family.
  14. He had one good hitting year, and suprise suprise, it was for the Cardinals.
  15. awesome, keep falling behind Jason.
  16. If we were against Snell or Maholm, Id say we can easliy scratch out 3-4 runs if Marquis can hold them down, but when were facing a no name pitcher in his first start, at least in the NL, the Cubs are often baffled. Snell, yes. Maholm, no. With one or two exceptions, he's been lights out since the start of June. Yeah, we have the best offense in the NL. I think we could get four runs off of Paul Maholm.
  17. Awesome job of making him work there.
  18. To be fair, the vast majority of our runs this week have come 6th inning and later. true, but I wonder how far behind we will be by then with Marquis toeing the slab. A fair point, but in that case I don't know if that's a letdown as much as a sucky pitcher. True.

  20. man I had a bad feeling about a letdown.
  21. How's rebuilding from Bonds leaving going for you? Not too well, unfortunately. Thanks for asking. No problem.
