If this trade goes down as many are reporting it without us giving up Vitters that is amazing. If I run the Cards or Brewers though I am crying to the commish to over turn it. It doesn't seem on the up and up.

Exactly what does getting Peavy accomplish for them? They lose a guy in Escobar who has potential to be a all-star SS for the next decade, and any prospects that they give up they lose out on developing them to be part of a competing team 3-4 years down the road. There is no way they contend this year and it's unlikely they contend they next 2 seasons. They'll end up giving up a lot, plus the pads will likely expect whoever gets him to pick up at least part of the contract, and thats not something that rebuiling teams should be doing. Whoever gets Peavy will pay the whole contract.

I don't see how that is relevant here. They are not going to give up Heyward and Peavy will still be around in 4 years.

Get Peavy and let Dempster work. I'd rather use the money for offense. Get Peavy and take the picks for Dempster.

The Padres cannot be serious if that is the offer they like from the Braves. Neither Reyes or Morton has ever been considered high caliber arms (neither has ever been ranked in the Top 10 in the Braves systsem. I mean if the Cubs can't beat a package that includes Reyes or Morton then they don't deserve Peavy. They can, Josh Vitters alone should beat that. This should come down to if the Braves will include Jason Heyward. If they do we can't top that. If not with Vitters and Marshall we have better pieces for this trade.

I've heard the Lakers really like Kirk Hinrich. The only thing they really have to trade to matchup salary wise though is Lamar Odom or some crappy package involving Chris Mihm and Luke Walton. Chris Mihm and Luke Walton for Hinrich was be a fantastic trade for the Bulls in my opinion. Given, I have no idea how the salaries would work out.Doesn't Walton have just a ridiculous contract?

He averaged 32 points against top teams no else did that. Yes I saw what he did, but don't think he is as good as he played for two weekends. he was the darling of the dance and instantly became illini fans's #1 hero to eric gordon's villain. soon after, it became derrick rose, despite the fact that he, too, spurned us for another school. but those guys in the backcourt would have made us a final four team, no doubt. the funny thing is that gordon decommitted shortly after the illini failed to make rose's final cut. if we're in rose's top 3 when he releases the list, gordon would have been an illini. the fact remains that rose didn't want to play with gordon, which is why we didn't make the initial cut and why rose never seriously considered iu after gordon committed there. Yeah he was for sure fun to watch and is a good player. I just don't think he is as good as Ellington, but really what does it matter? This is just a preseason list.

You watching these games? Most of Thomas' stupid 27 foot jumpers are from pick and rolls. I've only seen the Celtics game, thanks to my lack of WGN Chicago and CSN. that said, they need to to pick-and-roll where Thomas is heading towards the basket, not picking and then hanging out 17 feet from the basket I agree. That's on him though, not game planning or Del Negro's system as was being mentioned. Tyrus is just kind of a dumbass. This isn't a bad idea, but I would prefer the pick and roll where Thomas rolls, Rose ignores him and takes it himself. or one where thomas rolls and he keeps on going until he goes back in time and the bulls keep lamarcus aldridge I hate you.
