I suppose. I think it's more in-depth than strictly a numbers thing. Generally speaking when both are hitting how I expect them to I think Theriot works a better count, is more versatile in terms of hitting the balls the other way/bunts, draws more walks and yes he does have a higher average. Soriano's power potential obviously makes up for his deficiencies in areas that Theriot is better. But as far a better hitter, with how I view the term, it's Theriot for me Theriot sees less pitches per plate appearance.
