College officials are just [expletive] awful.

I think he pretty much has to land Lovett and needs him to be legit. Not landing a point three straight years is gonna sink him like it did Weber. Snider really hurt.

It's year three and Groce still hasn't recruited a big ten caliber point or center and his offense is a train wreck. It's been damn near a decade since we were really good. Thomas can't make good coaches want our jobs. The football hire was awful, and everyone questioned the basketball hire at the time too. That doesn't speak too well of his ability to find a coach. I understand he was turned down like 4 or 5 times before calling upon Groce, but that still reflects on him as an AD. Our school doesn't really care. Look at Michigan paying up for Harbaugh, we don't do that. We just lucked into some downstate kids and happened to have Bill Self for a few years. We are now back to being what we are. Pretty depressing. Well, there's a little bit of a difference between Michigan football and Illinois. There is, but we have money to make competitive hires, we choose not to.

I've watched you a couple times this year, love Myke Henry, where the hell do you guys go from here? I thought Purnell might be able to make it work there, but that clearly isn't the case.

If they beat Louisville next weekend it's probable they enter the tournament undefeated. They'll drop a regular season game, but yeah they're winning it all.

Connor Frankamp to transfer from KU to somewhere he can have a bigger impact, despite the fact he was slated to start our first exhibition game. Hard to say what kind of impact this will have on KU this season. Likely not a big one, though we might miss his shooting. But it does open room for another guard. I hope it works out for you guys, you never seem to catch a break on the recruiting trail. I'm really shocked Frankamp is leaving though.

Butler has slid two years in a row, not sure how much bounce back he has in him. Rumors on sports radio here is they are listening on Gordon, Hosmer, and Moustakas. Would love to get Gordon, but imagine they rightfully have a high value on him. Mooose tacos isn't very good and hosmer is ok, but i can't imagine they'll get much of a haul for him. Yeah Gordon is the guy to want.

I don't mean to be that guy, but does anyone think the Royals will be "back" next year? You're not escaping Yost's idiocy two seasons in a row and they'll lose their "top pitcher" to free agency. No chance. That said, I also didn't expect them to make the wild card let alone the World Series, so who the hell knows. Yeah this year has clouded the fact that their core group really hasn't met expectations. Obviously Cain was a great find, and maybe the others will step up, but I can see this team winning 70 games next year before them winning 90. The only thing that did not break right for the Royals this season was Duffy's injury and Bumgarner was awesome and Panik made that play in Game 7. Actually, even Duffy's and Ventura's injuries earlier in the year looked to be season- or even seasons-ending but were just a couple of missed starts instead. Almost all of my friends knew this was their shot and are resigned to tthem falling back into 75 win hell.

It came out that he was injured. Yost wanted to start him Game 1 of the ALDS, but doctors said he could only go 2 innings at a time. Last night he wouldn't have been better than any of the guys who pitched the last 5+ innings. Could argue to start him over Guthrie, I guess. Well that makes me feel a lot better. I still would have probably started him tonight if you were gonna go bullpen the whole night anyways.

ERA+ for 2014 Madison Bumgarner 117 Danny Duffy 157 Next time the Royals get to Game 7 and have a fully rested ace, I am sure they'll use him. Maybe.

If you guys don't win it all I'd have to consider the year a failure, you put together a dream team and you need to win it all. Definitely, there's no one who can compete with their size and depth. I'm actually looking forward to Illinois, their backcourt is one of the best. Egwu is the one though. They'll likely end up being a 5 seed and sweet 16. Egwu is so good on defense. If he can just give us any offense I really think we could make an elite eight type run.
