  1. Most of us saw this pretty early on. We should have tried to develop the young kids more. He has lately, wish he would have all year.
  2. That's laughable. Forget the Chris Kramer era? If so D.J. Byrd serves as a pretty good reminder. Paul runs directly into planted defenders at full speed. Byrd was under the bucket.
  3. What exactly is Bill Cole adding right now? Get him the hell out.

  5. we suck so badly at the end of halves and games.
  6. He's gonna give away a 13 point lead sitting McCamey. Put him back in the game.
  7. We haven't won two games in a row since january. Won't happen here. I knew this was going to happen. It's historically about time for the big Purdue let down. I'm sure we'll see plenty of Illini fans teeing off on the Purdue fans after this game. :banghead: Not from me, you guys have been awesome this year. It's too bad hummel got hurt. I think you and Ohio State would really make the big ten proud in the tourny if he hadn't. Hell you still might.

  9. The committee always says some crap then does the complete opposite it seems.
  10. Do you know anything about this? Because best I can tell that's a glitch on Rivals' site. My friends that are Mizzou friends are saying he's coming. Not sure if they are going based off of Rivals though. Even if he isn't, I still think Mizzou is gonna be a handful next year.
  11. You generally are way off on your expecations. See the past two years. As are you and your expectations of Illinios. We lose Pullen and Kelly.. That's it. It is a lot, but there will be a LOT of experienced players on this team. Those are the only players on ksu worth a damn. Kstate will suck next year. Magruder, Spradling, Russell, Henriquez-Roberts, Samuels.. yeah, we'll suck. Keep telling yourself that. Kelly has done NOTHING this year, and Pullen didn't until lately. Mizzou will bring back more than anyone next year, the cats will be a top 5 in the new Big 10. Too much experience not to. Pullen + Kelly account for 28 of the 73 per game we score. Quit being so dilusional. Next year without really looking too much I'd say Kansas-until one of you schools quits giving them titles I am putting them here. Texas-Rick Barnes adds another great recruiting class Baylor-Quincy Miller and Duece Bello added to a decent core. Mizzou-Mohamed Abukar added to a good team that reurns pretty much everyone. OSU-LeBryan Nash is the crap. should all be a lot better than you. So I guess you could be 6th out of 10. And for Illinois. I predict a long year.
  12. So less than a week after getting a start, I am betting Crandall doesn't play this week. I love this team.

  14. I seem to recall that Ryan Anderson was ranked even higher than that at some point, and he was going to be the right handed Randy Johnson. Turns out the only thing they had in common was they were both 6'10". I believe he was in the Mariners farm system when injuries derailed his career. Jerome Williams was part of a 4 or 5 man rotation that the Giants had coming through the system all at the same time that was going to make the Giants special for many years. Boof Bonser was part of that group, but I don't remember any of the other guys now. ETA: Looking back at the list, I'm sure Joe Nathan was one of those guys as well. I am pretty sure that Anderson was also lefthanded. Jesse Foppert and Kurt Ainsworth.
  15. Suley have you got to see any of recruits play in person yet? My cousin has seen Shaw and says he will be a factor immediately. But, I haven't got to see any of them.
  16. He can play some. Last year at times he looked really good. Wasn't it against Ohio State in the BTT he played really well? There have been times when Mike Davis was just awful, that he could have got some burn. Granted not lately as Davis has really turned it on.
  17. Basaabe, or however the hell you spell it, is pretty freaking good though. Fran appears to have an eye for talented kids that are underranked. I'm hoping so. Cartwright and Basabe are a good start. Cartwright's best offer was Miami(OH) and now he's leading the Big Ten in assists and taking care of it fairly well. He was runner-up to BYU for Jimmer. Kenny Hasbrouck was a last minute recruit after he was hired at Siena and he was a college stud who got a little run with the Heat. Ryan Rossiter is leading the nation in rebounding this year. Basabe would have been destroying the MAAC this year. He's done a very good job in a short period of time at Iowa. I'd be excited for the future if I were an Iowa fan.
  18. II'm just saying we actually have pretty good talent right now. Two or three years ago I would have said our talent level sucked. Next year we should add four more 4 stars and a 3. But, I get the feeling we are gonna lose a guy or two to transfers. Do you have anything concrete on the transfers, or is it the same rumblings that have been talked about by the beat writers? Have you been following on Illinois loyatly? Griffey's dad hasn't had anything good to say about Weber or his rotations at all. Ugh. Never been there, I guess I"ll have to start. It's not bad. I was suprised that Mr. Griffey was as open as he was on bashing Bruce. Maybe during the offseason they will change their mind, but as of now I would say it doesn't look good for him coming back. I wonder if that is why they offered Max?

  21. Matt Gatens 4 star......................................... :D

  23. For comparison sake Purdue roster: E. Moore 5* #23 RSCI J. Johnson 4* #47 RSCI T. Johnson 4* #86 RSCI L. Jackson 3* R. Smith 3* DJ. Byrd 3* T. Carroll 3* K. Barlow 2* J. Hart NR(?) Wisconsin roster: J. Leuer 4* #86 RSCI K. Nankivil 4* unranked J. Taylor 3* J. Gasser 3* M. Bruesewitz 3* T. Jarmusz 3* R. Evans 2* Illinois roster: J. Richmond 5* #24 RSCI M. Leonard 4* #29 RSCI DJ Richardson 4* #35 RSCI B. Paul 4* #49 RSCI D. McCamey 4* #71 RSCI C. Head 4* #76 RSCI M. Tisdale 4* B. Cole 3* Mike Davis NR (we'll call him a 3* for argument's sake) Tyler Griffey 3* Talent isn't the problem. It's the guy in charge of the talent.
  24. No but as long as he keeps recruiting like this he's going to ocassionally get lucky and make deep runs like that. If you're Baylor that's pretty good. He has the #5 player in the country coming next year and the #2 player in '12 along with another top 50 kid next year. I agree that, for Baylor, talent and a lucky run every now and again are pretty good. But man, Drew is not a good coach. This year he has on his roster: Sr LaceDarius Dunn (5*, #6 SG from 2007) Jr Anthony Jones (4*, #6 SF from 2008) Jr J'Mison Morgan (5*, #3 C from 2008) So Nolan Dennis (4*, #16 SG from 2009) Fr Perry Jones III (5*, #3 C from 2010) and a several athletic role players. And he hasn't done squat with them, in a Big 12 with only 2 elite teams. Everyone else in the league is beatable, yet they'll struggle to get to .500. Sounds like Bruce Weber. I'd kill for that talent We have a ton of talent right now. That isn't the problem.
  25. They did have him listed in their guys who could rocket up the list next year though.
