  1. I'd think Oklahoma is just untalented enough to beat Self. I think you are really underestimating how much Self hates Weber.
  2. Bruce knows that Self will take him to the woodshed twice a year over that funeral, right?
  3. Bring back Weber PU. Do it.
  4. Isn't Dawkins going to be the next Duke coach? or did that change? Nothing changed - I was bouncing off some discussion earlier about his ideal fit being Duke. And while I agree, it would require me to hate him. And that would be sad. I don't think I'd hate him even then. i think K is the reason I hate Duke. He became what he hated. Dean Smith. Not being a smartass at all here. For once. Would you care to expand on that? K early in his career said that he hated that Smith ran the ACC because of who he was. Said somehing about how UNC gets every call because of he refs being afraid of Dean. That's pretty much what he has become at this point.

  6. Well maybe it wasn't on here. I just know I liked him when I saw him early in the year. And Fran kept telling him to stay at VCu and not get caught up in the grass being greener.

  8. They're in the Final Four, so obviously it was right for VCU to get in and Smart is one of the best 4 coaches in the country. No but a lot of us knew of and like Smart. I mentioned him earlier when I was asked who i would prefer to Weber. Not that I can see. Check the guy from vcu. I couldn't think of his name. lol.
  9. wish he had it in 08 though.

  11. I don't think Stevens is a realistic option for Illinois. He's going to stay at Butler for at least another year and then we'll see what happens with Crean at IU. No way Crean gets fired with the recruits he has coming in. They've waited out his bad years.
  12. I was just going to say, Weber to Purdue then Illinois can hire Pearl! =D> :P Shaka to Illinois. Sounds perfect. Did anyone think Smart was a good coach before his team unjustly got into the tournament? He's lead VCU to a 5th and 4th place finish in the CAA with Anthony Grant's recruits. Yes, but not this good.
  13. Anyone read what was put on Yahoo sports yesterday by Brad Evans? Host: Does Brad Stevens stay or does he leave? Evans: I think he is going to stick around. Look it's going to take the perfect job in order to wrest away Brad Stevens away from Indianapolis. You know, one point I do want to bring up is this. An hour and a half west of Indianapolis is Champaign, IL. Lot of unrest there in CU right now with Bruce Weber. Obviously Weber's leash is still a little bit long [but] it's definitely tightened up. Let's say Stevens sticks around at Butler through next year, Weber has another lackluster season with marquee talent coming in, a top recruiting class. I wouldn't be at all surprised that could be ultimately the step that propels Brad Stevens to the high major stage and he travels west to Champaign, but only in those circumstances. I don't think the Tennessee job, the Providence job, or really any other job that is available I would see Brad Stevens leaving Butler for.
  14. Sweet lord take Weber Purdue.
  15. Me too. I don't think I could stomach a title from the other side of the bracket. Give me a VCU or Butler title. Anyone but Cal.
  16. I really want a Butler national title.
  17. For the love of god, can we fire weber and back a truckload of money to this guy's house? No way Tim. That's the exact type of thing that Ron Gunether would never do. Brad could leave us someday. what's the story on Stevens? Is he really a die-hard IU fan like I'm hearing, just waiting for the opportunity to coach there? I'm not sure about that. He definitely has affection for IU. There was a line in today's IU Star where Stevens was listening to the Butler-Florida game 10 years ago because he was driving to Buffalo to go watch IU play (and that's an 8-8 1/2 hour drive so he's no casual fan). But I also think he just is mostly unconcerned about money. He never would have quit at Lilly if he was ultra concerned with his financial future. And I do think he wants to go somewhere where he just won't be another guy...where being a Butler guy and playing the right way will really mean something. So I don't think he'll leave unless it is the right situation. IU certainly might be the ultimate right situation for him but I would guess certain other situations might also interest him. I'd offer him a dollar more than Cal a year and tell him its because I think he's the best coach in America and should be paid that way. I'd make him say no.
  18. UNC vs UK should be amazing. Not so sure about the other one.

  20. Sexy?
  21. Jesus a Kansas title at this point is pretty much gonna happen. Great.
  22. I don't know. The way the conversation was going was talking about where players are from. I assumed he meant that Williams was only good because he was from out of the Big Ten's area. As if our area hasn't been producing the high level basketball players. It has been. We just haven't been getting them to stay at home.
  23. This is all kinds of awesome.
  24. You act like any conference the last ten years has produced a ton of great pros. Psst they all skipped college or came from Europe. With a few exceptions. Yeah, but no one any good came from the Big 10. Deron Williams is decent. Among the 10 best in the league. That's because he's from Texas. Yep the state of Illinois never produces NBA level talent. Good point.
  25. You said no one good. I just gave you one of the best players in the NBA. Had you said, hardly anyone good, then you would have been right. DOn't puff your chest out too far either. While the Big 12 has had some talent, none of them are from Mizzou.
