  1. He gets called up and faces two AAA level pitchers the first two games.
  2. I love how anyone would think an .850 ops SS would be low side of anyone's projection. An .850 ops SS is a freaking stud.
  3. Castro's last 38 games: 8.2% BB, 13.3% K, .207/.272/.352 (.210 babip) Castro's previous 72 games: 1.9% BB, 17.0% K, .304/.317/.445 (.347 babip) honestly, a .310 babip makes that a great line; i actually feel much better about his offense going forward now than i did when he was flailing at everything but hitting .300 I actually feel a lot better about Starlin after reading this. Thanks for posting.
  4. Bonafacio, Zimmer, and smith.
  5. The NBA crossed the line into mockery quite some time ago. When the league Vince McMahon'd the kings, that was it's low point. Excellent WWF reference. Stern is totally morphing into McMahon, he was in full heel mode at the draft.

  7. '01 Yankees on a technicality?
  8. I doubt it's too big of an issue. Not many people are paying attention to the big league team.
  9. You should drop knowledge to protect everyone. I still stand by my thought at the lakers always having a super team isn't good for the league as a whole.
  10. God you are funny and witty. Well played.
  11. :banghead: Why? They aren't going to win [expletive]. They were one game from winning it all. I wouldn't want that to eat at me all year long. I mean to be so close and choke it away. It has to eat at Ryan. In what season were they one game from winning it all? A few years ago in the finals against the Lakers, maybe?

  14. You win this round.

  16. And it's good for the league. "Super Teams" make the product better and the league more intriguing/exciting to watch, imo. I'd rather there be 3-5 teams with 3+ all stars on their roster than have it be spread out where every team has one and the rest of team is made up of [expletive] role players. But that's just me, I get the argument for the other way around too. Also contraction of 3-4 teams would be nice to concentrate the talent even more. Which is why the NBA and MLB are more popular than the NFL, where they have a straight cap that prevents super teams... Yeah that's why the NFL is popular. Every team having a chance to win has to be a part of it, no?
  17. I think people mistake what a spike in popularity for a few teams which are always on tv, vs. A huge spike for the entire league.
  18. Man I hope they don't leave Peoria.

Which is why the NBA and MLB are more popular than the NFL, where they have a straight cap that prevents super teams... The NBA has seen a huge spike in popularity over the last two years and superteams are a big reason why. The NFL is more popular for other reasons and I don't see how that argument is relevant to what I said. Plus it's not like the NFL is some super even or balanced league. Sure every year there are teams that were bad the year before who make the playoffs and the other way around but the MLB and NBA have that. The NFL is still top heavy there are only 4 or so teams every year that truly have a chance at winning the superbowl. I doubt that last part is true at all. Last year at this time how many people would have said the Giants would be a favorite to win a super bowl? And I absolutely think the common fan hates the NBA because every year you basically know who is gonna win it all.

  22. I got to hand it to the Lakers, they've created a scenario where I can cheer for the Heat.
  23. Yeah he had a strange career path. For a couple years he was pretty damn good for cheap. Then he got hurt and lost some control.
  24. I think ESPN.com tried to link to this site, but has the wrong URL.
  25. My guess is that it would take some extreme circumstances for him to start anywhere but Daytona next year, but I think this signals that he could potentially spend a good amount of time in AA by the end of 2013. That's what I figured, I hope he handles this jump as well as I think he will.
