  1. well at least Lou decided not to be dumb and did not put Marmol in their for the 9th.
  2. how can the answer to this question not be Arod?
  3. ?? He was 8-5 with a 4.24 ERA at AA and 4-1 with a 3.54 ERA at AAA. I recall seeing those numbers somewhere else, probably on the broadcast. I think it was over his last 13 starts or something? Hrm, sounds about right, he really came on in June and has been much better since. I believe the improvement was attributed to a new pitch added to his arsenal or an improvement to this new pitch. Those numbers were posted on the wrigley score board last night. I did not actually look up the numbers myself as I just assumed they were accurate. Like I said I had never heard of the guy before so when I saw those numbers I was like dang not too bad.
  4. I was at the game last night and me and this guy that was sitting next to me were like who the hell is #55. We thought it might have been Petrick but we really had no clue. Then when he came into the game there like now pitching for the cubs Kevin Hart. We were like who the hell is Kevin Hart lol. He had solid numbers though in AA. 10-1 with a 2.80 era. He pitched really well minus the first guy he walked.
  5. Romo will have a better year than Favre.
  6. I got TJ in the 4th Phillip in the 5th and Edge in the 6th. And ya I dropped Mare for Drew Bennett figure having a rams wr would be decent.
  7. Valid point.
  8. Its a yahoo 10 team league with several people from this board. Using default yahoo scoring. Heres what we can start. 1 QB 2 RB 2 WR/TE 1 kicker 1 defense. I had the 7th pick out of 10 teams. My Team is Rex4MVP and here is my roster. QB Tony Romo Phillip Rivers Matt Schaub RB Frank Gore Rudi Johnson Edge James Deshaun Foster WR Chad Johnson TJ Houshmandzadeh Santana Moss Deion Branch K Jeff Wilkins Olindo Mare Defense Miami Tampa Bay My only concern is my QB situation. They went a lot earlier in the league then I thought they were and was hoping to get Brady in the 3rd but he was picked a couple of picks before me. But overall I think my team is pretty good but what do you guys think?
  9. Garrett Anderson in his prime was pretty decent player. He was never a superstar like Arod or anyone like that but he was still pretty good in his prime.
  10. It is hard to agree with Steve Phillips but hes right about once every 100 times or so this one just happens to be it.
  11. Yankees and Bonds coverage for sure.
  12. Why would the tribune care about excess backloading payrolls? They wont own the team next year so they should careless.
  13. Same was going to vote for the Cubs.
  14. I was wondering why anyone actually voted for the Soto / Blanco combo guess this explains it lol.
  15. Next time were below .500 will be sometime next year.
  16. Gallagher threw 23 pitches last night and Eyre threw 15. Marmol hasn't pitched since Monday, so they probably wanted him to get some work in. Plus, a 10-2 game in Coors is like a 5-1 game anywhere else, and the Cubs are really desperate to break this streak. Ahh I was unaware that Marmol has not pitched since Monday. I turned the games off well before it got to the relievers spot late in the game. It just seemed like Marmol was in almost every game and a 10-2 game would have been a good one to give him off. But since that is not the case I withdraw my objection to using him.
  17. why are we using our good relievers in a 10-2 game? This seems like the perfect time to get guys like Scott Eyre and Sean Gallagher some work.
  18. dude, it is because you aren't there Seriously. Vance, what's the Cubs' record with you in attendance so far this year? 3- 10 for this year. :( Obviously we need to stop you from attending all future games this year.
  19. It is hard to believe that Christian from chicago did not make the top 50.
  20. Ya if not for his injuries Griffey would easiely top the 755 mark as well. In fact he probably would have topped 800 as well. He still will be a first ballot hall of famer but it would have been nice to see him top Bonds on the list for sure.
  21. anyone have a pitch count for Lilly? This looks like the type of game where he goes 5 or at the most 6 innings with Gallagher finishing off the game.
  22. I think they said it was 0-32 with runners in scoring position but I know it was at least 0-30 though.
