  1. That sounds kinda dumb. Washington was not in the playoff picture so why could they not get a deal done now. I have no faith that if Hendry could not get a deal done now he wont in the next few weeks as well. Maybe Washington was being ridiculous with their requests? That is the most likely scenario. Ya I would soppose that would be the most likely situation. But I don't see a few weeks changing anything. Especially since teams could easiely block this trade from happening.

  3. That seriously is the most ignorant statement ever. How did Milwaukee get better, Scott Linebrink? Have you forgotten that we have been consistently gaining on them for 2 months? My God. I am fairly certain they are still ahead of us even with there best pitcher on the dl. When he gets back there lead will go up again.
  4. Braves were the only team to significantly improve themselves yes. But the mets added a 2B that they needed Brewers added a reliever Padres added a few players and these teams were already better than us anyways. So while there improvements might be small but a small increase is better than a negative one though. So it looks like will be on the outside looking in once again.
  5. while several teams improved themselves before the deadline the cubs only made themselves worse by taking on a a worse catcher and making no other moves at all. At least its Milwaukee that will win the division not the cardinals.
  6. nice job by hendry this trade deadline. Trade away barrett acquire a worse C than what we had and thats it. Thanks for the good work.
  7. Gammons said he was surprised that the Cubs or the Red Sox didn't go strong after Jonny Gomes. I would have really liked to have him on the cubs too.
  8. Better that he goes to Boston than Milwaukee.
  9. Looks like Wood is gonna be popping Cherry........'s chance to produce this season in the majors. eh...that joke had such potential and I made it fail hard. I'm sure Wood has popped a lot of cherry's in his time.
  10. I listened to Gammons earlier on BBTN when they were talking about the cubs. This was never brought up so I am pretty sure it is total BS. Grant it I did not listen to the entire BBTN program so its possible that it was brought up but I highly doubt it.
  11. Haha. You just mentioned ESPN 1000 and reliable in the same breath. More reliable than a newspaper message board. I donno triple H seems like a reliable person he is in pro wrestling after all.
  12. Haha. You just mentioned ESPN 1000 and reliable in the same breath. Dang beat me too it lol.
  13. I have a hard time believing some random poster on some site but that being said I still do really want Griffey.
  14. I would probably do it if we had a resonably good chance to resign Torii after the season since I think he is a FA. But I do not know how interested Minnesota would be in that trade anyways.
  15. I have gone to the bars before to hook up with girls to I guess end a dry spell. On most of these occasions I ended up being to drunk to remember these incidents but waking up the next morning you figure it out pretty quickly. Anyways the girls that I hooked up with were not that bad. Not sure if I would hook up with them sober but they certainly were not anything to be ashamed of. So I was not sure weither to pick yes or no but ended up settling for no because I think of a slumpbuster as a really nasty girl that no one would hook up with unless really desperate. I am really picky when it comes to women and so even though I might not have slept with those girls sober I am pretty sure most would have so thats why I went with no.
  16. Who marries a cardinal fan?
  17. This is a very valid point but I think you could probably put most of the students that actually attend Arizona state in that category as well.
  18. That's nice. I'm a forward-thinker. "That's nice", now foward-think this. In Lopez's 7 season, he has posted an OPS above .750 once. That's nice. He wasn't a full-time starter until he was 25 and got a lot of on the job training as a young player. Since then he's been pretty good with most of his OPS being OBP-driven (which means OPS underrates him). That's nice. Remove 2005 and his .258/.321/.399 line ges even uglier. His .294 OBP in 377 ABs this year screams "pretty good job" to me. Did I mention he is an awful defensive SS? That's nice but he's been good two of three years as a starter, which is more than Cedeno will probably say. He's not good defensively, but not anemic. He'll get the job done. He's not any worse than Theriot. I would rather have A-rod
  19. Not necessarily true. Like you said we'll never know, but since the Marlins and Cubs were the hottest teams in the second half of the season, they could have still won the first round series even if the opponents were reversed. And if they would have won the NLCS matchup would have still been the same. Well ya it is quite possible that Florida beats Atlanta and we end up playing them anyways. But who knows how long it takes the cubs to finish off the Giants as opposed to the braves. Maybe its only a 3 game series instead of 5 and are pitchers are more rested. Maybe the marlins struggle against the braves and there pitchers aren't rested and we beat them instead. Lots of possibilities that are fun to talk about but they didn't happen and we lost to the marlins life goes on I guess.

  21. well conine drew an 8 pitch walk.
  22. now we get to watch the bottom of the reds order do absolutely nothing woot.
