Pretty crappy way to treat Eli. Geno Smith isn't their future QB, some dude currently playing in college is. They aren't winning with Geno either and at this point in the season what difference does it make if you win a game or two? You let Eli play out the season, you let him walk off the field waving at everyone at the end of the last game, etc., and then once the season is over you have a business conversation with him where you say "do you want us to try and find you a suitable team that we could trade you to that might give you another chance at a ring or do you want to retire?" -

Yes, you're mostly right about that. Almost top to bottom the SEC has top-notch facilities that rival anywhere else in the country. I guess in this context, when I talk about resources I'm mainly talking about the "other" things. A&M sits in the top 2 or 3 most fertile recruiting grounds in the country and according to Rivals rankings they've only finished above 10th place in recruiting once in the past decade. That will change if/when Jimbo gets there.

they are much more comfortable getting into bed with their own down there Money is literally no object to folks at Texas A&M. They have a dozen boosters who literally have hundreds of millions of dollars. It's gross the amount of resources that athletic department has. There's zero reason they shouldn't be winning 10 games a year, which I guess is why they fired Sumlin.

The idea that Gruden was ever going to be their head coach is crap-your-pants laugh out loud funny. The dude makes like 8 million a year to call 16 football games or whatever. What fool would give that up to go babysit 85 college football players and spend half the year traveling around sitting in people's living rooms?
