  4. Rockies broadcasters agree that he was safe. Doubt we'd see that type of honesty from our crosstown broadcasters.
  5. Luke Scott just gunned down Ryan Braum at the plate!!!
  6. I'd rather him PH Marquis if he's going to PH a pitch. Main reason being that Marquis is a better hitter and Z just swings for the fences. Secondary reason being that I'd rather that risk of injury go to Marquis than Z.
  7. Are you sugggesting that Henderson is even close to a better player than Bonds? Depends? If we are using the numbers Bonds has put up the last 6 to 7 years than no. If we are going to use the Pre-Steriod Bonds than yes I would make an arguement that Rickey was as good. I also was just saying they could fight over who gets to play LF as the other would have to play right. Which from Ole Miss original team would leave Aaron as the Fourth OFer and Griffey off the team. The more I think about it, I'm not sure I'd put Aaron in my starting OF. Barry's defense and speed trumps Aaron, while at the same time putting up similar power numbers as Aaron: (Bonds 162 game avg: 41hr, 109rbi, 182 ops+, Aaron: 37hr, 113rbi, 155 ops+) Griffey's defense also would warrant him being in my starting OF. The battle, in my mind, would be between Henderson and Aaron as my utility OF. With Murray, Bonds, Mays, and Banks on the team, I've got more than enough power. So I think I'd go with Henderson. LF: Barroid CF: Mays RF: Griffey Uti OF: Henderson
  8. um sawamura? Ya, I was also thinking he needed to be in that pitching staff.
  9. I figured you were at the last few games. During Murton's homers, I was expecting to see you on the field running alongside him ala Hank Aaron's 715.
  10. Are you sugggesting that Henderson is even close to a better player than Bonds? Considering who else is on the team, Rickey's ability to steal 100+ bases consistently is perhaps more valuable than Barry's contributions.
  11. Wow, I totally forgot about Tejada. If you are going with for now, you better mention that at some point Miguel Cabrera is going to be on this team. If he doesn't eat himself into oblivion, then there's no doubt he'd be on that list eventually. Kid has serious game
  12. Change of scenery probably helped him coming back to his home division.
  13. Dang, I was hoping to see MURTONFAN on the field doing the "Aaron 715 fan run along" next to Murton.
  14. Wow, I totally forgot about Tejada.
  15. i think that's always interesting... i say go for it. Ya, definitely go for it.
  16. Musial, Dimaggio are OF. Sandberg was my utility INF. Although Musial could certainly contend with Mantle for the utility spot in my white-boy OF.
  17. What about Chad Kroeger. Put him in the OF over Ruth? Now you're being silly. Keep this thread on track please. You're right, I was just messing with you.
  18. You're probably right on that.
  19. What about Chad Kroeger. Put him in the OF over Ruth?

  21. There was a piece published in the 70's in Esquire magazine by a sportswriter who broke all-time players up into ethnic groups, such as Irish, Italian, etc...but the game is definitely, and thankfully, more demographically expansive these days. So let's go with Anglos, African-Americans, and Hispanics. (would include Asians but there isn't enough of a player pool out there as of yet...wouldn't want So Taguchi going up against Roberto Clemente.) Each team gets 3 pitchers, all the position players, plus 2 utility men, one from the OF and one from IF I'll start my list in a few minutes.
  22. No kidding. He looks terrified of swinging.
