  1. In 1909, Ty Cobb led the Major Leagues in 11 offensive categories: BA: .377 OBP: .431 SLG: .517 OPS: .947 OPS+: 194 Total Bases: 296 RBI: 107 Runs: 116 Hits: 216 HR: 9 Stolen Bases: 76 lordy
  2. I'm hoping Renfroe falls out of the first round because if he does, I'm pretty sure he'll be coming to the Rebs.
  3. awful. 5 outs away. just awful. 4 super regionals: 0 - 4 terrific
  4. If Sheffield ever gets into the HOF, what cap would he wear? So far he's played for Brewers, Padres, Marlins, Dodgers, Braves, Yankees, Tigers, and Mets. My guess would be Florida on account that he is from there and was pretty instrumental in their 1997 WS victory.
  5. If he's a soft tosser, there's no way we win this. He throws pretty hard. Went to school with him. Glad to see he's made it to the pros, but I hope he's 0-1 after tonite.
  6. HOTTY TODDY!! Walk off HR in the bottom of 12th for Rebs. NICE.
  7. Graphic of his 570 ft shot: http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/deadspin/2009/06/Picture_10.png
  8. for real. My time in Denver has shown me just how dreadful the Rockies upper management is. They are among the worst in baseball easily.
  9. Just wanted to comment how weird it is to me that this guy was born in 1992.
  10. Maybe he'll be what Josh Hamilton SHOULD have been.
  11. His highlight videos are literally jaw dropping. His bat speed is INSANE. They said that his bat speed at 16 is already faster than McGwire's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=liS3kGvQ9Bk
  12. are there actually those among us that think Sosa was clean? please
  13. 19 16 39 61* 33 23 26 *STEROIDS
  14. Wow, Dunn is the only one I would've preferred over Bradley. I don't think anyone could've predicted anything close to this out of Ibanez this season. And as bad as Bradley's been he's not too far behind Abreu number wise so far. But Ibanez is always consistent. Bradley was a headcase with a slightly above average bat (save for last season) who only played more than 110 games TWICE in nine seasons. Sign me up.
  15. Under his current contract he gets 10 million a year. We're about a third of the way through the season, so lets just say he has earned 3 million so far. 5 HR, 14 RBI. That money is really paying off. $600,000 for each HR and $215,000 for each RBI. edit: well I guess he only gets 5 million this year...but you get my drift.
  16. I've shown some of his stuff on here before, but I have a buddy who does abstract historical baseball paintings, so I thought I'd show some of his stuff off again. http://www.grant9smith.com/fine_prints.html Some examples:
  17. The way Wells is pitching I think that'd be kinda foolish.
  18. the dummies in our pen actually WALK Frenchie and then throw him the only pitch that he can actually hit.
  19. the Monforts and O'Dowd are complete and total idiots when it comes to running the team.
  20. Rebels are doing all this without Scott Bittle. My god, if they had Pomeranz and Bittle back to back.... It's sad about Bittle's arm. Sad how someone who puts up stats like these won't get drafted very high at all: 2008: 7-1, 1.75 ERA, 70.2 IP, 130 K's, 30 BB 2009: 5-2, 2.17 ERA, 45 IP, 69 K's, 22 BB
  21. HOLY SMOKES! Drew Pomeranz, lefty pitcher, just pitched perhaps the greatest game in Ole Miss history. Win or go home, on 2 DAYS rest, he put up this line: 9 IP, 2 hits, 0 ER, 16K's, 1BB WOW
  22. So in their 4 games this weekend, Ohio State gave up 71 RUNS http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm169/Scandinavian_Cold/simpsons_nelson_haha2.jpg
