  1. I'd have killed myself if the Saints were in the Vikings shoes last night. I definitely feel for Vikings fans. Completely devastating to lose that way. I thought the Saints played pretty well in most aspects of the game except for ONE thing: 3rd and 1's. They botched 4 freaking 3rd and shorts. The offense moved pretty well throughout most of the game against a solid defense except for those 3rd and shorts. Oh, and Sean Payton got a little cute a couple of times that pissed me off. That stupid double reverse was a terrible play to run deep into your own territory. Brees uncharacteristically missed several open receivers early in the game as well. That's very rare.
  2. awww, little Dexter McCluster. Little dude, but he is definitely solid. http://media.al.com/mobile-press-register/photo/-bd780d1ed23c3d7e.jpg
  3. That's awesome, Brees is gonna get a kick out of that.
  4. Someone may have already posted this, but wow. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/overnight-ratings-everyone-with-a-tv-watched-the-saints-beat-the-vikings/
  5. Go for the Saints. They are pretty much the Cubs equivalent in the NFL.
  6. Those who dislike Favre certainly don't have a dearth of photos out there.... look at these:
  7. Bourbon Street would be scary if the Saints win. Has Mardi Gras begun yet? it starts the Sunday after the Super Bowl and Drew Brees is the King of Bacchus for the parade this year....hmmm.
  8. what a GREAT pic! this one is good too http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/image/getty/2010/09000d5d815f17a5_gallery_600.jpg
  9. The Colts were hardly murdering people at the end of the season either. Their average margin of victory in their 8 wins since Nov. 1 has been 7.4 points. Saints last 8 wins since Nov. 1 has been 13.3 points.
  10. of course there is. Peyton is a legend, Brees is a pro bowler (for now). I'm not arguing that. Both teams have exceptional QB's and I used the phrase "two killer QB's". That wasn't a straight comparison of them, just stating that both teams have killer QB's. Big deal.
  11. We're not looking at careers. They are playing the game this season. So yes, there are two killer QB's. I consider a guy to be a killer QB who set the NFL RECORD for completion % in a season this season and led the NFL in passer rating and TD's this season. I'll state that without a doubt I believe Manning is the best QB who ever played in the NFL. However, if you are talking about killer QB's right now, then Brees is in that discussion.
  12. I wonder if the consistent lack of respect for the Saints all season mainly has to do with the fact that they are THE SAINTS. It'd be like if all the sudden the Royals were badass in baseball. I guess the equivalent of a 13 win season in baseball is 100 wins. So even if the Royals won 100 games, I'd still have a hard time taking them seriously I guess. So I suppose I understand the lack of respect.
  13. and they would be REALLY stupid to say that. Maybe I'm just blinded by my bias, but I don't understand why it is a foregone conclusion that they have no chance. I think the teams match up very well. This seems like the most well matched up Super Bowl in a long time. Two killer QB's, two killer offenses, suspect defenses.
  14. holy crap, I'm watching the NFL Network's coverage after the game and I think Deion is on some sort of drugs. Anyone else see him last night?
  15. there were people sitting near me who paid $600+ bucks a piece for their tix and weren't wearing any Saints gear at all. That's definitely not me though, I get decked out in Saints gear, Cubs gear, whatever. But to each his own.
  16. god this fills me with jealous envy I know you are being sarcastic, but it was pretty fun. Similar to what Wrigleyville would be like if we'd have won those games in 03.
  17. Soul is right. It's gonna be 172-7, Colts. It's not like the Saints were any good this season. It's not like they scored the 9th most points in history this season. It's not like their defense rated third in opposing passer ratings. It's not like they beat three teams with better offenses than the Colts this season. It's not like their only (real) losses were by a touchdown in one and a field goal in the other. It'll be a blowout, no doubt. You see, squeaking out a game against the Vikings = Colts blowout.
  18. you are mistaking the team for the fans. The fans are just happy to be there. The team is a different matter. A blowout seems extremely improbable. The worst the Saints have been beaten this year was by 7 points (I'm not counting the last game where the starters didn't play). They had one of the best offenses in the history of the NFL this season. Even if Manning is destroying their defense, their offense will do enough to keep the game respectable. The Colts defense is hardly stellar. Certainly not on par with what the Vikings were throwing at them.
  19. New Orleans native Peyton Manning will be trying to take all that Bourbon Street joy away... I find that to be interesting. trust me, Saints fans are just happy to be there. I don't think losing the Super Bowl would bother us all that much, especially against Manning.
  20. terrific video of the reaction after the kick of people running out of the bars and onto Bourbon Street http://videos.nola.com/times-picayune/2010/01/saints_video_bourbon_street.html
  21. vid I made of Hartley's game winner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3M1UFNR_gE view from our seats: http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh153/OleMissCub17/seats.jpg
  22. i honestly have no recollection of this game Hasselbeck had a goal line sneak that was a TD but they said it wasn't upon review or something like that. That's all I can recall.
  23. And all u folks talking about favre retiring, I just don't see. He'll likely sit out and think about it just so he doesn't have to go to training camp. He is still very effective.
  24. We r gonna get so crazy tonite. This city is going ape. Bourbon st will get nuts. There may be fatalities.
  25. this saints fan definitely will tonite. What a game to witness. We had tears of joy. There were some grown men blubbering like idiots. I wasn't that bad, but definitely alot of emotion. That game had so many highs and lows. I'm definitely going to the super bowl, don't care about the cost. Colts will probably beat us but that's ok.
