  3. wow, that fool got what I was trying to say perfectly. bitching about running crappy draw plays for an entire quarter (instead of running the schemes that got you 31 points in the previous half) and therefore scoring no points and letting the other team get back in a game = we could have scored a million points on them. Nutt is one of those old school guys like Tommy Tuberville that just get weak and uber-conservative when they have huge leads. Hopefully he'll change after this.
  4. Just heard a guy say "it is never good to lose to a "State" that isn't an actual State." haha Boise being the exception I suppose
  5. wake up today and realize yesterday actually happened. booooo
  6. thats not clever! natha stanley has a nice touch and good arm. u said so a while back or so.
  7. What worse loss ? Ole miss or ku. No defense vs no offense
  8. colonel reb is crying in his confederate handkerchief yar yaryar yar yaryar yar yar football
  9. Not an exaggeration to say that was the worst loss in the history of the program. Making the girl drive back because I'm so flustered (read: about to start drinking) I can't drive. That is precisely what happens when you take your foot off the gas. Nutt is like best friends with that Jax coach. We put up almost 400 yards and 31 points in the first half on them then we start running vanilla garbage and all of the sudden they are back in the game. Nutt isn't to blame for the pathetic defensive effort at the end of the game, but he definitely deserves blame for taking his foot off the gas because he didn't want to embarrass his friend by running up the score. On a positive note, Nathan Stanley looked very good (in the first half when Nutt actually let him throw the ball). Masoli played well also I thought.

  11. except that he apparently didn't rob anyone. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/ncaa/07/27/masoli/1.html
  12. Jeremiah Masoli has been cleared and can play immediately. excellent http://farm1.static.flickr.com/29/100276794_548c83c4eb.jpg
  13. Southern Miss/South Carolina could be a pretty good game. DeAndre Brown is always fun to watch. He should be a top draft pick this year.
  14. according to fangraphs, Grace had a total WAR in the 90's of 37.6 some others on the list Alomar: 46.4 Joey: 42.9 Pudge: 38.4 (didn't play in 90) Thome: 30.7 (not counting 92,91,90) Juan Gonz: 30.1 Bernie: 35.4 (didn't play in 1990) Gwynn: 34.1 Olerud: 44.2 Biggio: 53.2 Larkin: 51.8 McGriff: 38.8 Piazza: 45.2 (not counting 90,91,92) Edgar: 54.0 Bagwell: 58.3 Raffy: 53.4 Big Mac: 51.2 Bonds: 82.8 Junior: 70.2 Big Hurt: 57.0
  15. Fine, it was a silly thing to say. You can penalize anyone for anything. Point is, Grace had a very strong decade. He's certainly on the ass end of a list like that at #20 or so, but I think he belongs in that range.
  16. but he wasn't a power hitting first baseman, so why penalize him for that? He was in that mold of first baggers like Will Clark and Olerud. Granted they both had a bit more power than Gracie, but they aren't Thome/Big Mac types. Would it have been nicer if he had more power? Hell ya. He still had a damn strong decade though.
  17. Is Mark Grace really one of the 20 best position players of the 90s?? .310/.385/.449/.835, 122 OPS+, 1754 hits and 364 doubles with 4 gold gloves is a pretty fair decade. He's obviously at the bottom of a top 20 of the decade, but I can't imagine that it would be a travesty or anything that he is there.
  18. I disagree. We replaced a QB who did more harm than good last year with a system QB playing under the coach who pretty much brought the whole "wildcat" thing back into college football. If anyone knows how to manage a quirky offense, it's Nutt. Dexter is certainly not replaceable, but Ole Miss has a fairly large amount of young offensive weapons, plus Masoli is quite the offensive weapon himself. Our greatest weakness was going to be OL, and we lost 3/5, our LG and RG are still there. However, the weakness at OL was going to be masked quite a bit because of the skills of a QB like Masoli. With Masoli I was predicting them to win at least 8 games (Jack. St, Tulane, Vandy, Fresno St., Kentucky, Miss. St., Louisiana-Laf., and have a win against Tenn or Auburn).
  19. because you're in the know right? Most of us were still pulling for him up until the final game and were still wanting him to come back even after his suck ass season last year.
  20. Snead? who is that
  21. If you're going to sell your soul at least demand a higher price. oh stop with the hyperbole. Did you actually read about what the guy ACTUALLY did? He's not some uber-thug who sold drugs or committed an armed robbery or beat the crap out of someone.
  22. Fine, some people would have a problem with it, but I doubt most would, especially after reading about what he ACTUALLY did, which was really nothing more than hanging around the wrong people. And I didn't say a contender for the BCS. Did you not see me mention the "WEST" as in Western Division of the Southeastern Conference.
  23. being a white basketball player
  24. Is the conference that weak this year? It's not that. It's that Ole Miss was still a strong ass team going into the season, but they just didn't have a QB, so they weren't going to be competing for the West more than likely. Given a good QB, especially a Heisman caliber like Masoli, then they are right there in it with everyone else. Ohhhhh, so you're just pissed your team didn't benefit immediately after acquiring a free agent criminal. uhhh, yes. If your team was one position away from being a contender and a Heisman type player at THAT very position fell in your lap, you wouldn't take him out of some lofty principle? ya sure. what bothers me most is the arbitrary nature of this ruling. How is this different than Greg Paulus? This type of waiver happens all the type in the NCAA, so clearly their ruling on Masoli is arbitrary because he met the requirements listed.
