  1. I didn't see him play this year. He may have redshirted. What's his name? I'm curious where he fits into Ole Miss' plans. Anthony Standifer. He's a DB.

  3. lol Why would or should they visit the Delta and what difference would it make if they did? "Holy crap, can't go to Ole Miss, there are some really poor counties 100 miles away where some isht went down half a century ago." Would you expect a USC recruit to go visit Compton or have that influence his decision? Of course their individual motivations vary but the bottom line is that they are obviously comfortable and enjoy themselves or they wouldn't choose to go there and/or their parents wouldn't let them go there. So whatever things you expect them to be turned off by don't seem to be a problem for them.
  4. Article says that she filed criminal charges. Police just haven't acted on it yet.
  5. I don't really know what to believe. I think 85 percent of these type of "well he was paid off!" allegations are sour grapes from people whose teams lost out on a recruit. However, I'm not a fool and when I see a poor kid from the Mississippi Delta driving a nice Tahoe with fat rims, I have to wonder.
  6. Is your default position that most five star college players are paid off to go wherever they go? Honest question. Just trying to get a bearing on your opinion of college football recruiting.
  7. Never said Ole Miss always has clean hands. I'm not naive. I saw way too many athletes driving absurdly fancy cars when I was in school to certainly raise my suspicions. However, Treadwell's commitment is hardly a shock to anyone who follows national recruiting. He has been tweeting and making public statements about how much he enjoys Ole Miss and Coach Freeze for six months now. Even before he publicly commited there were numerous reports out there about how he and Nkemdiche were zealously hounding other recruits at these All-Star games about visiting Ole Miss. Treadwell has enough legit reasons to favor Ole Miss above the other schools he was interested in to negate someone's default position of "uh well he was paid off". If Ole Miss is somehow able to flip Laremy Tunsil, as some are suspecting they may do, then even my red and blue eyebrow will be raised.
  8. And we were able to get him for $305! What a steal! How in the world do you not see the other bills behind that. Could be all $1's, but its more than $305. OK, $315. I'm sure if they were hundreds he would have laid them all out to help him achieve whatever effect he was going for in taking that pic. By all accounts Treadwell is a smart kid with a 3.5 GPA. If he was illegally paid mad stacks of cash I doubt he'd be flaunting it on instagram. More likely is that he was trying to look cool with some cash he had and shortly after either he realized that it could look bad or somebody got to him and told him that it could look bad (because yeah, it does look bad) Treadwell's recruitment is hardly suspicious. His best friend from his hometown is a freshman DB on the team. Treadwell helped his buddy move in last fall and started liking the town and the program and came down for several games and made friends with the players and the coaching stuff, etc. He also became tight with Robert Nkemdiche because of all the camps and all-star games they were at together. Treadwell has been around the program a ton and is close friends with a lot of the guys. It's not some huge surprise that he chose Ole Miss over Oklahoma and Oklahoma St.

  10. That was a brutal game to watch for a Rebel fan. Ole Miss was a hysterical 28 of 85 (.329) from the floor. Kentucky was 28 of 56 (.500). Noel was a beast.
  11. Imagine if J.J. Reddick had been three times the tool he was. Meet Marshall Henderson, your leading scorer in the SEC. http://www.collegehoopsjournal.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/marshall_hendersonauburn.gif
  12. Just came across this clip of pitchers blowing their arms out. Sick! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unF08R9YcOQ
  13. Yeah, recruiting classes under #25 for a team in the SEC is permanent cellar dwelling territory. Hard to compete otherwise. Well, y'all are a basketball school anyways, right?
  14. Ehh, didn't realize y'alls class was that bad. #32 class right now. Tennessee is only one spot in front of y'all and you aren't nearly as bad as Kentucky at #56 if that makes you feel any better... Although now that I'm looking at it...#32 is about par for the course. Didn't realize Mizzou had such poor recruiting classes (at least as far as Rivals is concerned) 2012: #31 2011: #48 2010: #21 2009: #40 2008: #25 2007: #33 2006: #47 2005: #39
  15. While the last part may or may not be accurate (never proven, for sure), I don't think Ray Lewis has ever been convicted of a felony. Correct and didn't he testify against his boys in order to be not charged with murder? It's been forever since I thought about that trial so my mind is a little hazy. You are correct. He testified against the other two guys and thus only got a misdemeanor charge for obstruction. However, even though he testified against them they were acquitted of murder.
  16. moving hurriedly past my negligent oversight.....How about we all joke about what an outlier Gonzo's 2001 season was?
  17. Because he's looking solely at home runs or because he's comparing a 144 game season to a 162 game one? Guess I forgot about the shortened season....dur.
  18. Was screwing around on BR tonight and came across something interesting (at least to me) and this may be common knowledge, but seems like 1996 can be considered the first "juicer" year. In 1995 only one player in all of baseball had more than 40 HR: Albert Belle with 50 (F.Thomas, Buehner, and Bichette each had 40) In 1996 I count at least 15 players with more than 40 HR
  19. Can't say I've ever seen a pro athlete troll an opposing fanbase this hard. Jesus
  20. Of course this would happen. A Niners fan stabs a Falcons fan in throat after game. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/fan-fight-leaves-1-injured/nT3Nm/
  21. Thank You Jeebus! Couldn't have handled a Falcons-Pats SB
  22. Refs want to get out of The Dirty alive. They'll call it a catch.
  23. Yes indeed, when I was living in Denver I did the same. Probably went to 15 games with rockpile tickets.
  24. Well isht.
