Colston and Brandon Marshall have remarkably similar career numbers, so unless you consider Marshall a random, then Colston sure isn't. That is a ridiculous comparison. Check out football-reference's active career receiving leaders. They are pretty much right next to each other. I'm not saying Colston is better than Marshall (because I'd rather have Marshall given the choice), but the whole point of the comparison was to point out that someone who compares statistically in a favorable way to Marshall isn't just a random WR. Receiving TD Marshall - 17th with 47 Colston - 11th with 59 Rec Yds Marshall - 16th/8,103 Colston - 17th/7,596 Yds per game Marshall - 8th/73.0 Colston - 9th/72.3 Receptions - the only massive disparity statistically Marshall - 13th/639 Colston - 16th/546 And I get that Brees is better than Cutler, ergo his receivers should have good numbers, but it's hardly a ridiculous comparison.
