    Concerning his AB with a runner on third and two outs. I don't really fault him since we definitely don't pay him to hit, but I do wonder why an athletic and clearly competitive guy doesn't at least try to swing in that situation. It was Wainwright though, so maybe he just didn't want to look foolish flailing at pitches. Could Maddon have told him to not try?

    If, in 14 years this site has provided me with nothing else, the d1baseball.com knowledge is quite possibly the best thing I've gotten. :clapping: lol, ya man, searching for updated college baseball scores is a nightmare until you find that site.

    Maybe so. The conference teams seem to be investing a little more money in baseball these days. TV money in the last few years probably has something to do with it. I've always wondered why ESPN never ponied up to show much college baseball and left it to regional networks. Heck, it's almost impossible to find results on ESPN for it either. Ya, d1baseball.com is the go-to source for scores. Instant score updates for every game in the country. Most major conference college games are now on the watchespn app.

    I think it's unrealistic to want to compete with the likes of BCB or other Cubs sites that have content constantly updated articles, etc. What will separate this site from those and provide a contrast is if this entire site is devoted to the forum. That makes it unique. Front page = message board.

    I like jerseys idea of it linking straight to view active topics. It shows that the community is vibrant and also educates people about view active topics, which I think many people may still not grasp.

    Certainly. I think if the front page was the forum itself we'd see a surge in new members, especially with the new excitement around the Cubs.

    Eh maybe, I don't really care about what is on the front page of a site if I'm looking for the forum on that particular topic. Perhaps just have the front page center exclusively on leading people to the forum and forget all the other stuff.

    At this point this site is just a social club for like 60 of us. Since this date 5 years ago, we've only had 6 members who have joined that now have over 1000 posts. In the last 5 years we've added 576 members. In the 5 years before that we had 2,692 join up. I think the Cubs being terrible is worth 90+ percent of that decline, however, I think the mega threads are not very conducive to drawing in new members and increasing traffic. If someone was just browsing through and looked at the forum, they might almost think it looks dead due to the lack of threads. My main reason for not liking them has been echoed by others in here, which is that you're just creating a forum within a forum.

    Do you have MLB.tv? It's on there. It's on WGN locally but WGN won't be showing games nationally anymore. Whhhhaaaaaa? I dropped the mlb package on directv because I figured that between WGN and CNSC that I would get most games this year.

    Totally agree about the mega threads being an issue. I think an outsider would look at the board at first glance and assume it's nearly dead due to the lack of unique threads. I feel that we have an opportunity to grow the site a ton as the Cubs continue to get better, so ya, more unique threads like this one please.

    Just realized that I have to change #3 Ruth to A-Rod! Ruth only wore the number for 7 years. A-Rod wore it for 10. So A-Rod is on the list twice amazingly.
