    Probably. This is similar to the Nomar situation. And I'm fairly certain that Hendry will again wait until the deadline to make a deal, just to worry me as much as possible. Thanks, JH.

    Lets disect the post: So basically trying to make himself seem genuine in order to get people to actually believe his post. Even if he is a troll, wouldn't he put a disclaimer up to protect himself because he knows we are all smart enough to not take everyone at their word? He could have been "trying to make himself seem genuine" or he could have actually been genuine. There's no real way of knowing which one he was. Granted, there have been trolls like this plenty of times before on msg boards, but just because he was new doesn't mean he was a troll, perhaps he was legit. I don't think we really know for certain.

    Meh. After hearing this stuff about Hendry unwilling to trade Hill for Dunn, I'm thinking we most likely won't get Dunn. The only other option out there that I want is Huff, but I haven't heard anything lately about him being available. :cry:

    Was Hairston unavailable tonight or something? I don't understand why he didn't start in the first place. If you want to get Gerut into the lineup, why not just put him in LF? Why screw with a lineup that's been scored 7/8 runs daily, unless Hairston needed a day off that badly?

    If that is indeed the case, then it makes this rumor even more confusing.... Did the Cubs or the Reds deny this trade? On that one link someone posted, the fans there were saying Hendry said the price was too steep. So it was the Cubs who denied this trade. I think

    Poster said he had a source telling him a Dunn for Patterson, Mitre, Hill deal was going to be completed sometime between last night and tomorrow evening....lots of speculation...today, he came on and said he still expects it to be done by tomorrow evening, but Bruce Miles said nothing is going on right now...supposedly, the Reds radio announcer asked Hendry tonight about that rumor, Hendry said it was too steep of a price.

    I'd do Patterson and Mitre for Dunn in a second. Maybe the Reds would do Patterson/Mitre/Wellemeyer?

    Marty Brennaman actually asked a GM about an internet message board rumor? If you think about it, that actually lends credibility to SweetEmotion. I personally doubt that the Reds broadcasters follow a Cubs MB. They could have heard the same rumor that SE heard. Anything's possible. Either way, it doesn't look like a deal's gonna happen but at least something has confirmed SE. Yeah, that's true.

    *Sigh* I don't wanna get my hopes up. I just came home, read the original message and checked to see if Dunn is in Cincy's lineup, of course he is. That dissapointed me. But I still think it's possible we could get him.

    What? Burnitz in CF? Gerut leading off? Did Hairston really need a day off, especially after we were scoring so well with the lineup we've been using?

    Probably. He'll benefit from being able to DH, that's for sure. If he can just become a little more patient and cut down on the K's, I can see him hitting quite a few dingers. He's certainly a real strong kid.
