It was a tough situation for Yawney, there were a lot of expectations last season and injuries to Ruutu, Daze, Khabibulin really hurt us. This year, there were even more expectations because we actually acquired some speed and talent, but then Havlat, Handzus, Khabibulin go down and once again the team is without their top players. Regardless, I felt Yawney's system just didn't work, he preached defense and the team did improve in that area, but offensively the game-plan was pretty bad, he constantly juggled lines even when they worked and inexplicably gave guys like Denis Arkhipov 17+ minutes of ice time per night. I don't blame much of the losing on Trent, but it's not a big loss to see him go.
