  1. I love 24, but I'm more excited about the Bears by far. I thought the Bears played at 1? They do. The question is what are we more excited about.

  3. throw in tim mccarver and you've got quite a trio of man-love
  4. Yup, NWS is actually saying high of 31 with a 30% chance of snow right now for Sunday.
  5. hahahaha.... http://mb19.scout.com/fcowboyupdatefrm10.showMessage?topicID=126746.topic
  6. ouch for seattle
  7. Ugh. After losing 2-0 to the Blues last night, the Hawks get pounded by the Predators, 8-3 at home. Khabibulin was pulled after 4 goals, and Brian Boucher proceeded to allow 4 more. To make matters worse, Havlat was scratched due to a groin injury, he will miss Sunday's game vs. Phoenix, and also is going to undergo an MRI. Great. Just when you thought it was OK to be excited about Blackhawks hockey...
  8. for some odd reason, i had a feeling peterson would fumble
  9. I really can't understand all the excitement from the crowd with Griese coming in. I don't see him doing much in this half.
  10. I think they'll recover as the New Year begins, but there are some serious problems they need to remedy. One is team toughness. This team is probably the softest in the league, they got pushed around tonight, and we end up seeing Duncan Keith (at 6 feet, 193 pounds) try to take on some russian Svitov (6'3, 217) in a fight, and while I credit Keith for having the balls to do that, the Hawks need someone who's a real enforcer, and can hold in his own in a scrap. Vandermeer used to be able to do that, but has shown absolutely nothing this year.
  11. Hawks fall to the Blue Jackets 2-1 tonight. Just a plain lack of offense for this team right now. Havlat has no goals in his last 5 games and was pretty invisible tonight. I think Tallon has to do something to bring in some scoring, they really struggled to get the puck on net tonight.
  12. Yep, just walked up and got 'em in the 300 level, where the real fans are. It sure is a good idea to check them out right now...Friday's game should be good as well, an Original Six matchup, and there should be a good sized crowd. Not to mention the Blackhawks are playing awesome hockey right now.
  13. I decided to attend tonight's game, the Hawks beat Dallas 2-1. Arkhipov had a good game, a nice goal on the PP to give the Hawks the lead, and then another PP goal off a slapshot that actually was credited to Lapointe. Khabibulin had another strong effort, came up big in the 3rd when Dallas swarmed the goal a few times. Crowd of about 14,000+ tonight, and had some pretty good energy, gave Khabby a standing O in the 3rd after some nice saves. This team just continues to roll...
  14. Reminded me of the Karpotzev own goal a few years back.[/b] Reminded me of that one as well.
  15. Hawks fall 3-2 to the Avalanche tonight. Another solid effort, but they were certainly tired and seemed to run out of gas in the 2nd, and in some of the 3rd they looked sluggish, not to mention the flu bug is going around the locker room right now, and currently Havlat and Hamilton have it. Cullimore managed to knock a puck into his own net as well -- pretty much sums up his season.
  16. Nice win. Khabibulin, once again, strong in goal, as usual. Hawks also had to deal with some questionable officiating, as they only received 3 power plays, while Toronto had 8. Great to see Peter Bondra get Goal # 500 in his career, and he got a nice standing ovation from the fans. Also the biggest crowd of the season for the Hawks -- 17,950. Hasn't been that high in awhile.
  17. Preds are one of the best teams in the league. I was actually heartened to see that the Hawks really played with those guys----even dominated the play for much of the game. Moral victories? No. But I think this team is figuring out they don't need to fear anyone when they take the ice. Agreed. In that game against Detroit, they came out hard and easily could've won if Hasek wasn't so stellar in net. Same thing last night. They're showing they can definitely hang with the best teams in the league (and more than that, we're 3-1 against the Preds this year).
  18. I was at this game tonight. The Hawks outplayed the Predators for the first two periods, but the 3rd was poor. Kariya's 1st goal was a result of him cherry picking, and the Hawks, particularly Duncan Keith, didn't realize it, and he was in alone to get the goal. The 2nd goal was a result of the Hawks, for some reason, unable to capitalize on 3 chances to clear the zone during the PK. Denis Arkhipov, especially, had a good chance to clear and gave it right away. He sucks badly, BTW. Brings absolutely nothing to the table, even for a 4th liner. Just a little sloppy tonight, and a little lazy at times. They were probably due for an off night. Just have to re-group, and be ready for the Leafs on Friday.
  19. Ever since Yawney was fired and Havlat is back in the lineup the BHawks have been playing very good. Yep, Savard is really doing wonders for this team, the system he's put in place is working and it's allowing guys like Ruutu, Havlat, Vrbata, etc. to do their thing offensively. Khabibulin is completely on his game and is also a big reason they've been playing so well lately. Only 2 points out of that 8th playoff spot currently.
  20. Blackhawks win again tonight, 2-1 over the Avalanche at home. Goals came from Ruutu & Aucoin. Khabibulin made 26 saves. Sounds like another solid effort, and they're 7-1-3 in their last 11 games.
  21. Just saw that Aucoin is back in the lineup tonight for the Hawks.
