The Americans weren't favored to medal. The U.S. Hockey brains completely turned over the roster from the Tkachuk/Modano/Chelios crew to the Parise/Kane/Miller crew, and they played pretty damn well. This bodes well for 2014. yup. going into the olympics, picking the US for the bronze was considered a bold pick. not only did they win a silver, but you could argue that they had the best tournament of any team. I give Burke and Wilson credit for going with a younger team. I think Parise, Miller and Kane were no brainers, but I could see some hockey people taking Tkachuk over someone like Dustin Brown
