I dont care for NFL football even though it is widely popular. Not all sports are for everyone. I would suggest going to a hockey game though

Florida could probably bring in a versteeg level talent and a pick for Vokoun without taking on a bad contract. We'll see. I bet not. another factor is this, Versteeg doesnt have the best of contracts either. It isnt an albatross but it is not like the Hawks would be moving a young, productive and cheap forward. In this trade, Florida would be taking on bigger contracts and giving up the best player. The main upside would be a late 1st round pick. I think Florida could do much better if they are serious about moving Vokoun.

the gauge is broke..Canada is a superior team. USA will need great goal tending and some other breaks to beat Canada.

i think Huet is kind of a catch 22 for the hawks. it would net very little in return to move him plus some other asset. for huet to actually develop some trade value, he would have to do well in the playoffs. if that were to happen would the hawks want to trade him?

you are probably still going to have to be more specific with an actual trade proposal. I am not sure how any of these situations you are suggesting is really helping the Hawks. Bad goalie with a bad contract and prospect is not going to net good goalie. not sure how giving up sharp without getting equal value forward in return is going to help the team either unless you are bringing back real good goalie.

I think you may to have to give me an example of what you are thinking. What asset would motivate a team to take on Huet's contract? For that team to take on 5mill plus in payroll for 2 more years, what would the Hawks have to take back? Big Hawk fan I workout with was saying the other day something about trading Huet. My response was what team in their right mind would take Huet. His response was, what team in their right mind would sign Huet for 5 million 2 yrs ago. Not exactly comparing apples to apples there, but there are some questionable GMs in the NHL

He could have been a little better, but he could have been much, much worse. His major league OPS' have ranged from .761 to .656 (most recent). Soriano posted a .726 OPS last year. So Dubois' upside was probably around what Soriano did last year, maybe a little better. Soriano's upside, however, is 100-150 OPS points higher than that. Like I have said, I hope Soriano is healthy and productive. I just think if needed Dubois could catch lightning in a bottle for a couple of weeks if needed, anything longer than that would be scary. -

I would hope he wouldnt. My guess is Dubois would not even be called up. It just wouldnt bother me if he was. -

Well it sure as hell better bother the people in power. Junk like Dubois has no place on a team with playoff aspirations. I think a team with legit playoff aspirations need to hope that their everyday LFer doesnt have major injury issues. If Soriano would go on the 15 day dl, I would not be bothered by the hope that Dubois could put together a nice 2 week run. If Soriano would be hurt more long term I dont think the Cubs have much playoff hopes anyway -

I had read that datsyuk was going to center Ovechkin and Semin, but that was several months ago. Olympic hockey does not start until next weekend...all nhlers will still play through tomorrow nah, olympic hockey for men starts tuesday oops, I knew it was not going to interfere with NHL games

I think the Johnsson deal is a good deal for the Hawks. For the Hawks fans who think they need someone more physical I just shake my head. Being physical is a nice asset but is not the be all end all in being a good dman. I would much rather have them being good with the puck and in position defensively. If they are that and a strong physical presence that is great, but really not as many of those around the NHL as people think.

the fan base was pretty excited about the Campbell signing at the time. Even in here I think Cynosure ripped on me and called me a jealous Wings fan for questioning the deal and saying Campbells defensive game was not very good. Of course Cyno was never the voice of reason.

very interesting read. I like his point of not adding a team to just add a team. The Big Ten could have done that years ago. I disagree with his assessment that missouri and syracuse will never be invited into the Big Ten.
